Update (17/04/2017): Oh, how time flies! Since I did this back in 2015, the $517 that was raised has resulted in funding of $2,331 for 90 projects.

Thanks again to those that have contributed in the past 2 years. I'm not setting any target this year, but feel free to give me a birthday present in the form of a donation!

Update (17/04/2016): I just noticed that in the year since I first started this, a total of 90 projects have been funded for a total of $1,426 - this from the $482 that was raised, much higher than the $330 target set!

I'm going set a soft target now of $670 ($330 for 2015, $340 for 2016), so that leaves me only $188 short!

Anyone willing to give me a birthday present in the form of a donation? :)

Update (20/04/2015): Thanks to the 10 people who donated $33 and the 1 person who took my total to $340 - higher than my first target!

I'm going to keep the campaign open for 3 more days and from now, match everyone who donates $ for $!

Yalla, let's donate people:)

Donate $33 if you can afford it. Donate less if you prefer. Just donate.

If 10 people donate $33 each I will hit my target!

Did you know that a loan of just $100 is enough to change a life in a developing country? Just a bit of capital to invest in a business or education can double or triple a disadvantaged entrepreneur's income - providing a sustainable livelihood for their family and securing better education for their children.

That's why I decided to dedicate my birthday this year. Instead of gifts, I'm accepting donations on behalf of Zidisha, a registered US nonprofit that facilitates microloans in the world's poorest places.

100% of your donation will go straight to the entrepreneurs, and you'll receive an update on how the funds were spent. Best of all, when the loans are repaid they will be relent again and again to fund new loan projects - truly a gift that keeps on giving!
