Happy Belated Birthday Laurie.
May all your dreams and wishes come true.
Thank you for all of your hard work in Zidisha.
I miss you in the forum, but I know you need to finish your offline project and others things. Sorry I just saw your profile page last night when scrolling in the old forum. Better late then never ;-)
I hope everything will running well for you. See you soon. ;-)

It's nice to hear from you, Fitri! Thank you so much for the sweet birthday wishes!
Sending you a big hug! :)
Hmm, about those posts over in the old forum (about being away from Zidisha for several months), I've actually been wanting to delete or edit those... because I never actually made it to the offline projects at that time! There's just always been so much to do online here, and I haven't been able to pull myself away! I'm addicted to the work!! LOL. (I can't delete or even edit those posts over in the old Forum, though, because there's a technical bug affecting most of the accounts over there on that third-party platform... most of us can't even remove or change our profile photo over there. It's been very frustrating. That's one of the reasons our Technical Team created an in-house Forum.)
So, I had been working for Zidisha that whole time... just not in the Forum, because there have been so many other things I've been working on (online) for Zidisha, mostly behind the scenes, but occasionally some have seen me on their public Discussion pages. That hasn't been able to be very often, either, though.
In any event, after about September 2017, I finally did cut back my hours from very full-time to only about ten hours per week, most weeks. Some weeks, it's still been more hours than that, because sometimes I lose track of time when I'm working for Zidisha! :) I've been intending for the reduction in work hours to continue at least through the end of January, but I probably will need that to be for even longer, unfortunately. I'll come back full-time to Zidisha again, when it's possible to do that.
Fortunately, Joost and Dave, and others, are doing a great job here in the Forum and elsewhere, too, for Zidisha! :) They are very appreciated! And so are you, Fitri!
Thank you so much for all YOU do for Zidisha, too.
I hope that all of your dreams and wishes come true, as well. :)

I can't change my profile pic on the old forum but I was able to erase my profile pic.
This forum is good too. Cutting short the time for zidisha staff and Volunteer to help anyone who having problem.
Yes, Dave and Joost and behind scene team are very helpfull here and others area. I saw that Joost spare his time giving suggestion to borrowers how to improve their loan application more attractive; I saw that from someone post on facebook grup. It's like seeing Roy. I Hope Roy fine there. Aamiin.
I saw you on my assigned member discussion page and on others discussion. And I try to say hi to you there. I almost afraid the discussion review team will scolding me because I say Hi to you from my assigned members page. ;)
Someone give me advice to sending my wishing here on random post.
I know the feeling. I lose track of time when strolling in Zidisha web or when I try to reach my assigned members.
Just don't burn your self out Laurie. I'm happy you are still here. Nice profile pic ;)

Yes, Dave and Joost are very helpful! :)
That said, appeals to Zidisha staff for help with specific account issues are supposed to get declined for publication in the Forum and the borrower is supposed to be referred to the Support-Ticket system (or email, if it's a log-in problem). Apparently, not all staff members know this yet, because I've seen some specific issues in the Forum that should have been sent in on a Support Ticket. The Forum is meant for help with (non-account-specific) general information.
True, the Discussion page is not for reaching anyone other than the borrower whose page it is and that borrower's lenders. That said, even the borrower's lenders won't get notified of every comment, or even of any comment, depending on the settings they chose in the lending account. And we on the Administrative Staff see comments on Discussion pages only sometimes, when we're reviewing comments for possible placement onto the "Project Updates" page. Keep in mind that when we're reviewing comments, we cannot possibly review every comment that comes through every day, because Zidisha has tens of thousands of borrowers!
So, posting here in the "Random" section of the Forum gives you a better chance of someone on the Staff seeing your message and letting the person know, if the person you're trying to reach doesn't frequent the Forum anymore. That's what happened. Julia saw your message and then sent me a note on the Administrative Staff's third-party chat platform. :)
Hmm, I can't seem to change OR delete my photo in the old Forum. I hope I'll at least be able to delete my photo, too, as you said you were able to do. I'd prefer to change it to what I use here in the new Forum, but deleting the photo over there would be an acceptable alternative. How were you able to delete your photo, Fitri? Can you tell me the steps you used? I hope it will work for me, too!!
Nah, I've been a Lender for over three years, and a member of the Administrative Staff for almost three years, and I haven't burned out yet! And there's still more to learn how to do for Zidisha borrowers that I want to learn, too. That said, though, there are other things I've neglected, a lot, to be at Zidisha as much as I have been ever since I discovered the platform, and I do need to be more careful about that - unfortunately, because I'd rather be at Zidisha all the time! :)

I miss the old forum ability to choose the paragraf/ teks that we want to reply, sending smiley and getting email confirmation when someone answer our question in the forum. I think you can only erase your profil picture Laurie. I've tried many times to changed my profil picture and unsuccesful, that's why I choose to erase it. This is before the forum changed to this forum. I hope you able to erase it.
Yes Laurie, I saw it in the statistic page. It's amazing to know how zidisha grow since the beginning until now. still, I think the discussion review team will allow the VM write on their assigned member discussion page about how to pay theirs installment, especially for Indonesian borrower. There two changes payment for Indonesian borrower:
1) for borrowers whose payment already from Virtual account, the Virtual account changed from BCA Virtual account to BNI Virtual account. this changing make few or more tends to choose not to pay their installment or make a payment for a month, because everytime they make a payment, there is transfer fee IDR 6500 to IDr 10.000. some of them doesn't know how to avoid the transfer fee.
2) for borrowers whose disbursment before 2017 which the payment dompetku indosat change to BNI Virtual account. I've encounter more then one borrower who doesn't know about this forum and they didn't read email confirmation from zidisha about the changing and how to pay their installment.
I have 2 assigned member that are unique, they will only read my whatsaap message with no respose and will react to my message when I posted in their discussion wall. that's why, I hope the team will allow the VM, especially VM from Indonesia whose posting about how to pay their installments in their discussion page. I am grateful as Indonesian borrowers that we, borrower in Indonesia get the disbursment to our bank account and the payment to Virtual account. this allow us to pay the installment from other bank account or from Flip as long we input the correct Virtual account; then our payment will credited to our account directly. Indonesian borrower doesn't need to update their phone number for payment as the other Like Kenya, Ghana or Zambia borrower.
yes I know you are strong fighter. Maybe you have super hero genes in you. hehehe ;)
do you realize how the "like" in this forum works? whenever post thats have many likes, the people name listed according how long they have become zidisha members. Am I correct?

Thank you for the kind words at the end of the post, Fitri. :)
I will have to come back to the rest of the post another night, though. I am overwhelmed with work both here and off the platform, too. It may be a while, but eventually I'll come back to this! Thank you, in advance, for your patience...

I'll be away for this week. My office holding Jury course for F3R Pylon race and we are having International F3R Aeromodelling competition on 8 -11 Feb. So happy to see other Jury who used to come when my office hold aeromodelling competition. I have a great monday, and yes my area, Surabaya is 12 hours ahead of yours. I reply your comments here. I think it's more appropriate to write here. I've seen Ale, Reema, Cam Smith, M Fleury name on Volunteers alumni and Ale have child from her picture profile. I hope they are fine there. haven't have the time to say thanks for their help here. My ticket have many new name. Mallika Toppay, Lenka Bellova, Aliz, Jessica, Wee beng, Brenden McMullen, Dave, Jan Tovarys and Prayush Gupta the most who answering my ticket. Yes, Ronny Wijaya is awesome too. He always reply my email quickly. I hope he's fine and happy wherever he is.
The website still takes to long to respond on Discussion and repayment page. I hope the technical team can solve it soon. Do you facing the same when you access the website?
Thanks for another long information on the forum. I'm sure there a lot of behind Science task that need your attention and other volunteers soon. you know, I've notice that on December 24 and January 24, Many payment didn't credited soon on borrowers account. let's see on February 24. I hope that number isn't special number.
I've to go, taking the jury material course. see you soon. :)
Feb 16, 2018
Yes, it's more appropriate here, to have this more random conversation. ;)
Sadly (for all of us, especially!), all of those you mentioned had to leave, even though they did love helping people here! Newer commitments left them not enough time to be here anymore. It unfortunately happens to everyone, at some point.
Alejandra (Ale) has her baby niece in the photo with her. :) She left for a paid job, not because of having had a baby. ;) She was with us for one year; we wish she could have stayed even longer! :)
Yes, Mallika, Lenka, Aliz, Jessica, Dave, and Prayush help borrowers in Indonesia the most often.
Aliz has been with Zidisha non-stop for almost as long as I have been. :) She has been the Team Leader for the Zambia Payment Team for a long time. She more recently also has started helping borrowers in Indonesia.
Wee Beng, Brenden, and Jan already have left, too.
Although it doesn't say it on the page, it obviously is optional for us to post a photo on the "Team" page (or, later, on the "Alumni" page). We're allowed to publish or unpublish our photo there anytime we want to (and for safety or other reasons, anyone can list just the first name and not the surname, if they prefer that).
Sometimes some Alumni come back for a while. For example, Paige has been back and forth many times. :) www.zidisha.org/team
Besides Julia, of course, Paige is the only one currently working here who started working at Zidisha earlier than I did. You can see a nice thread that she started here: forum.zidisha.org/threads/w... :)
Hmm, December 24th makes sense because of Christmas, but I don't know what happened on January 24th! I hope, too, that the same doesn't happen on February 24th for Zidisha borrowers in Indonesia or anywhere else!
I hope you enjoyed your time away, Fitri. :)
I have to go, too... it's very, very late over here and I need to sleep.

Hei Laurie, I'll be back and send reply to yours after Feb 24.
I've read your information on the old forum and few information about Peige. She is beautiful :)
You are sneaky one. Don't worry, I'm sure Zidisha have a great team that will manage the forth when you need to cutting back your time here. ;)
Feb 19, 2018
Hmm, I didn't mean anything as "sneaky", lol.
I noticed errors and corrected those errors, that's all! :)
In fact, I just noticed and corrected another one...

I will be reducing my work-hours at Zidisha, for a while, even though I don't really want to do that... unfortunately, other aspects of life currently are demanding more of my time.
However, yes, of course, the others here will help! :))
That said, we do still need *more* help, though...
Looking forward to hearing about how your time away from Zidisha has been. I know you only reduced your hours, too, though, lol, because I noticed that you still have been doing some of your VM duties. Thank you so much for that, Fitri! :)

After Feb 24 Laurie. You are a bad influence in good way everytime you send me to your information tab.
I hope Aliz have great time with her holiday. :)
See you soon ;)
Feb 24, 2018
Ditto, Fitri. I had intended not to be in the Forum anymore and then you created this thread! Lol. You also are a "bad" influence, in a good way, haha... you know, you don't have to reply to simple updates; it's just there for you to know about and check if you want to, but you don't even have to do that.
Btw, do you get notified of new messages in here? I don't.
So, then, if you don't, either, then why are you checking the "Random" part of the Forum (or even any part of the Forum) when you were supposed to be away, lol. You are as addicted to Zidisha as I have been! ;-)
I also hope that Aliz is enjoying her three weeks away!
She has been good about staying away from Zidisha for the entire time, so far (as far as I can tell). She is wise to recharge!

It still count after February 24 right ;)
My expectation already going rampage when I knew that we are holding F3R International Competition and F3R Jury course, thinking that there will be so much to do And I was wrong. There are two team at that moment; 1.the registration team, 2.Jury course and field team. I'm on Jury course and field team. I'm in charge for the jury course accomodation, food, water supply, the Jury course material kit. Lucky for me for I have the opportunity to learn about the rules and and everythings when there are F3R FAI international competition. Bruce de Chastel (Australia) and Vissut Ampoivorn (Thailand) are good teacher and they can explain everything with their body language and they speak clearly. You know the language gap quite a trouble at first. As I was not in charge with the registration and the scoring team. I was practically stay at the jury tent, accompany the scoring team and ready to do other task if needed. I was sleepy, not because lack of sleep, because I was doing nothing, so I checked zidisha web to distract my self ;) . Or I sent the water to the jury which near the tents just so I can walk around.
Usually when we hold regional competition for F1 and F2, I'm in charge in registration. Checking all the atheletes data, checking their ID /Family register and their age; Does all of them meet the requirement. Doing the validation which class that will compete. Then on the competition days, I'll be in charge on the administration and help the scoring team. So much to do that sometime makes me sleepy because lack of sleep as we need to input the result till the night. Walkie talkie is my communication tool with the others, only check the phone to see is there any correction that we need to check after we publish the result for each round.
Thank goodness the F3R International competition running well. The jury course participant done their job very well. Bruce said they done the job very well too. I forgot to take the picture when one of the plane crashing and broken to pieces. Oh my, that plane cost for about $ 1200 or more :( . The good news are, Bruce came with 5 planes and all of them sold out. I'm sure he was happy to go home with 2 medals from winning the competition and all his plane sold out.
Here some of the footage on the competition and on jury course.
About the 'bad' influence in good way please note that you are the one who start it. I'm practically copying you and other VM since in the old forum. How you and the others always active answering anyone question. I envy all of them as they can answer in english and help the others more. I was succesfully away from forum last year. I only check the forum about once-twice a month just to check is there any new announcement or if there were a question in Bahasa Indonesia that I need to translate so maybe you, Cam, Ychuah (it's Yujie right?) Can help them more. Or maybe there are question about dompetku Indosat which the payment method for Indonesian whose loan disburse before 2017, as I have the experience with dompetku and bank tranfer( the disbursment and payment method for Indonesian since 2017). Then my mentees happened. I can't stay away from the forum because so many things happened since October 2017.
I'm happy when I saw your picture in one of my mentee discussion page. Glad to know that you are still here. Btw, because your influence too, I able convince Joost become Zidisha Volunteer. :) It is my selfish wish to ask lenders to help us again with them become Zidisha volunteer too. We already get their support and then ask their help again to spare their time to help Zidisha and the borrowers here. Feel guilty, ungretefull but happy at the same time. Thank you Joost. :)
And I'm happy for make you grace the forum again ;) I always thought that the others VM whose active in the forum before will resurface when you coming here.
Alejandra picture profile on the old forum is cool. Hm, I thought it is Alejandra baby. Well I hope Alejandra and the others are fine and happy wherever they are. I just checked the 'Team page', there are new formation there. Jessica move to Ghana payment. New additions for Indonesia, Francesca, James and Abdel. I'm sure for about 2 days ago there are 2 picture of James with different information on the team page. I haven't chance to meet pooja in my ticket, I saw that she is the alumni now.
I don't get email confirmation when someone reply my comments in the forum. But I notice that usually you are active while I'm waiting to pick up my niece and my nephew from their school. My niece and nephew are in kindergarten school, they are not twin. The little girl in my profile picture is my niece.
Feb 26, 2018
Wow, thank you for that wonderful update! I'm sure that even though you were sleepy sometimes, it was worth it. Kind of like Zidisha, too. :) It all sounds (and looks!) interesting. I especially like this video: m.facebook.com/story.php?st... I also love the music! It made me feel relaxed, something I haven't felt in a really, really, really long time. So, thank you for sharing that with me. :) I think I will try to watch it every night before turning in (before going to sleep). That probably will help...
I'm sorry to hear that one of the expensive model planes crashed. :(
Oh, Fitri, you're making me feel guilty, lol. I didn't know those things you told me (about the Forum). Hmm, okay, I will try to be here more, when I can. I have a lot of other Zidisha responsibilities now, though, so it can't be as much as it used to be before, but I will try for once a week.
RE: "I can't stay away from the forum because so many things happened since October 2017." I hear you, Fitri. It's one of the big reasons why I can't stay away from Zidisha, in general, because so many things happen and so much work needs to be done. I can't abandon borrowers and I feel guilty that I even have to cut back my hours for a while. There are other dedicated souls here, too, but there are not enough of us. We all need a few clones. ;) So, yes, please, anytime you have an opportunity to "recruit" any lenders to join the staff, please do try to do that! :)
RE: "About the 'bad' influence, in good way, please note that you are the one who started it. I'm practically copying you, and other VMs, since in the old Forum. How you and the others always were actively answering anyone's questions..." Well, *actually*, back then, the one (besides Julia, of course!) who *really* started that was Bayle!! :)) (There's a screenshot attached to this post, from the "Information" tab here: forum.zidisha.org/members/l... of the entry dated "2015-10-11 through 2016-10-02", referencing her departure in October 2015, but I notice it appears too small, so here's what is says: "Helped answer lender and borrower questions in the Public Forum... (took the initiative to do this following Bayle's departure: forum.zidisha.org/threads/t... ")
Yes, correct, Jessica is leading the payment team for Ghana. ("Payment teams" take care of approving loan profiles, disbursing loans, crediting repayments, disbursing refunds of overpayments and refunds of MLF deposit fees, as well as answering payment-related Support Tickets. "Liaison teams" take care of general-topic Support Tickets and a multitude of other administrative tasks.) Most people who work here work on both types of teams, and usually for more than one country. However, sometimes, if it's a country with a very large number of borrowers, such as Ghana, the "Team Lead" may not have time to work on any teams for any other countries, which is the case for Jessica. She is a student at Harvard and, honestly, I don't know how she finds the time and has the energy to do all she does here for Ghana (or, previously, for Indonesia). She must be super-human! :)
Yes, thankfully, we have had some new additions helping the teams for Indonesia. Abdel returned recently, and Francesca and James are entirely new to Zidisha; and a few others have joined, as well.
Pooja used to divide her time between helping on the Accounting Team, and helping borrowers in Indonesia (probably on the Payment Team for Indonesia, doing disbursements and crediting repayments). I didn't have much opportunity to be in contact with her, either. I do know, though, that she currently doesn't have time to work here anymore, but maybe would be able to return at a later date.
Yes, Alejandra mentioned that she is happy in her new, paid job. She also mentioned that she does miss Zidisha. :) We have heard from her, briefly, a few times since she had to leave in August. I know her, though: whatever she does, she puts *all* of herself into the work (she used to work crazy, long hours here, too!), so I'm not surprised that she doesn't have energy left over for Zidisha anymore, because her new job, of course, is getting "the lion's share" of her energies. Still, though, we all selfishly want her to come back, even if only for ten hours per week (that's the minimum time commitment for a Country Liaison). You can help us pray for her to return to Zidisha. :)
Reema and Camille ("Cam"), who also used to frequent the Forum while they were working at Zidisha, also left around the same time that Alejandra did. They are two more we hope could return sometime, too. :)
Yujie currently is leading the payment team for Kenya (which is the country that has the most borrowers at Zidisha, about 99,000). (Indonesia has the next most, about 42,000; and then Ghana has the the next most, about 32,000; and then each of the other countries Zidisha serves has significantly fewer borrowers than that.)
Oh! Just as you thought the baby with Alejandra on the "Alumni" screen was her daughter (but it's really her niece, too), I also thought that the beautiful little girl in the photo with you was your daughter! Now, I know she is your beautiful niece!
I can tell she loves you a lot. :))
P.S.: I think you do a really good job with English, and you help a lot of people! :))
Thank you very much for all of your hard work!! :)
P.P.S.: Fitri, we can continue the conversation over here:
