Gud evening zidisha, my loan was funded this morning, bt still it hasn't been disbursed to my account

Kindly exercise patience since disbursements can take five working days.

It sometimes can take even a lot longer than that...

Am fairly new in this Zidisha family and am taking my time to internalize its working and operational culture.
I received a warm welcome when I joined the Zidisha Family. My Loan request of USD43 was 100% financed within a day by 1 backer. And within 10minutes of accepting the loan, it was disbursed to my MPESA line.
For a moment I thought that the value preposition of Zidisha is high efficiency and impact oriented.
My second loan request of USD73 was also fully funded within a day from two backers. However from the time I accepted the funding on 26th July 2021 today is 29th July 2021 (3 days later) funds pending disbursement.
I am still waiting to understand what happened differently in my first loan that we did not do in the second loan
Patience is a virtue, but when its arising from an operational inefficiency then the virtue becomes overrated. We cannot be comfortable that it takes upto 5 days or even two weeks to disburse funds. Such an occurrence should create us a huge discomfort
Borrowers on this forum run businesses. and time is money. Unlike corporate organizations and medium sized organizations which have 3months to 6months decision plans, Micro & Small Enterprises make strategic decisions within short time frames (usually a day to a week. )
I think we MUST review the disbursement mechanism (Customer service charter) if this lending process is still impact oriented.
That said, kindly expedite the disbursement of my loan request
Yours very patient

Hi Nixon, I'm sorry for the unusual delay in disbursing your loan. As noted in your dashboard, disbursements normally happen instantly, but may sometimes take longer when an international funds transfer is required. We are currently awaiting a new transfer of funds to our Mpesa disbursement account. We expect that it will be completed early next week, at which point all loans will be disbursed.

Noted. And thanks for the response. Finally.
But I hope in future Zidisha may consider establishing a much quicker feedback mechanism that alerts a person on actual and possible system delays arising from technicalities. This may assist a borrower to re-adjust expectations and re-plan business schedules.

Please check the drop-down list of subject options available on the HELP page in your account, choose the one for "Disbursement not received" (if your account shows that your loan has been disbursed), and create a private support ticket to send to the Director.
--> However, do this only if it has been more than two weeks since you confirmed acceptance of the terms of the loan, because it's possible that an international wire transfer of funds may have been required at this time from Zidisha's U.S. bank account to replenish the account that gets used in your country with Zidisha's money-transfer partner for sending lenders' money into borrowers' accounts. Zidisha has no control over how long the banks take to complete the wire transfer, and it can take up to two weeks, so patience is required.
After that amount of time has passed, if you still haven't received your disbursement, then please use the HELP link in your account to find the correct option there for sending a private support ticket to the Director, who currently is the only one who has the necessary access to be able to look into the problem for you.*
*IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please note that the "Disbursement not received" option only appears for borrowers whose loans have been disbursed but not yet received. Otherwise, if your loan status later still hasn't changed from "Pending Disbursement" to "Disbursed" and you've seen that many others in your country (who also were waiting at the same time that you were) already have received their recent loans, then, of course, it's okay to post in the forum. My apologies for any confusion earlier, as I didn't yet realize that the "Disbursement not received" subject option isn't always available in the drop-down list of subject options on each borrower's HELP page.

For 5 days now, since the loan was funded and I accepted on 26th July. It is still pending disbursement. I fail to understand why.

Joseph, please see the second paragraph of this earlier message, dated less than two weeks ago, that I posted here in this thread on this same tiopic: www.zidisha.org/forum-threa...
"...do this--[create a private support ticket about non-disbursement]--only if it has been more than two weeks since you confirmed acceptance of the terms of the loan, because it's possible that an international wire transfer of funds may have been required at this time from Zidisha's U.S. bank account to replenish the account that gets used in your country with Zidisha's money-transfer partner for sending lenders' money into borrowers' accounts. Zidisha has no control over how long the banks take to complete the wire transfer, and it can take up to two weeks, so patience is required."
Please also see the Director's reply to Nixon up above, dated today, in this same thread, to learn that your wait shouldn't be too much longer. :)
