Forum > Borrower Questions > Kindly shorten the Wait List duration for loans
Hello Zidisha, the new wait listing feature introduced is really holding down progress. How about it gets shortened to just 24 hours, so that borrowers are able to have their loans published in a timely manner and if possible, get funded quickly so they can run their projects on schedules.
My loan, for instance, is awaiting publication over 72 hours later.
I look forward to your favorable response.
In my opinion, it is better to wait for a month or two or even three months and when it is finally published, it is likely to get 100% funded. Rather than quick publishing then it expires half way.
Loans are mostly taken for emergency purposes or for urgent projects, i dt think waiting 3 months should be called a loan then ....... #mythoughtsthough
I think this may not be a good idea for businesses are done within timelines.
There are times of low season and high.
For instance I want to construct a classroom and it should be before the long start.
you cant wait for a $200 for 10 moths.doesnt make sense, zidisha should post all the loans for funding and let lenders choose which projects they want to fund. assuming you wait for the 10 months you are talking about and your loan is posted, and lenders are not interested in funding your loan,do you think the 10 moths will be of benefit?
@Immaculate, I understand the anxiety of being kept on the wait list. As per the director's post, the duration of a loan on this list will be determined by availability of funds. I only wish we (borrowers) could get regular updates of cash flow which can give the borrowers a clue as to when the pending loans will be funded.
The director had projected the donor accounts to be sufficiently replenished around this time and I hope that is still on course.
Thanks for your post, David.
I also understand it must be frustrating being on the waiting list but you're right, the amount of time it'll take will be determined by the availability of lending funds.
Sorry, Immaculate, but certainly at the moment it won't be only 24 hours.
However, regarding David's point about Zidisha-managed lending accounts and the technical error that was mentioned here: www.zidisha.org/forum-threa...
the good news is that Julia confirmed to volunteers in the past few days that yes, those accounts are still on course to be replenished and get back to a positive account balance hopefully at some point this month.

And, yes, Dave is correct regarding the situation about the Zidisha-managed lending accounts!
My loan application expired before funding, after I reapplied, it was taken to the waiting list until when funds will become available.. My worries is ,what made my profile picture disappear from my profile after my application was put to the waiting list, and secodly.,why is it not accepting another profile photo
I can still see your profile picture but it wasn't displaying well (there was too much black and not enough of you) so I've just edited it.
There was a comment that I wrote and the person from Zidisha who approves comments seems to either been in a hurry or did not read the contents of my discussion.
There's is nowhere that I indicated that Zidisha loans are for emergencies; far from it, I had written that these loans are best for starting or expanding existing businesses and this should not, therefore, be classified as "emergencies"
The comment I got is that "Actually, Zidisha is *not* for emergency situations. Zidisha is not recommended for time-sensitive emergency loans: www.zidisha.org/faq#faq-70 (Please don't mislead other borrowers into thinking Zidisha is for emergencies.) Thank you."
This makes me feel like someone is deeming or outrightly trashing my thoughts. I hope that these messages go through a panel of not less than 2 people.
Sorry to hear one of your previous comments was wrongly declined. Maybe someone misread it, so apologies for that.
Only one person moderates these forum comments at the same time, but at least 3 different people do that job when one of us is around.
Thank you so much for your quick and timely response. Am happy that Zidisha listens to us and am sure lots of Zidisha borrowers love the good work you are doing!!!
and loan approvals should also be fast.
Hello Dave 2319,am feeling like zidisha you are becoming unfair to some of us. Take for instance my case after my loan expired I posted a new application on 4 /2/2018 I was put on a waiting list ,that when funds will be available my loan application Will be published, and they will notify me.
Today 13/2/2018 I have received a notification on my Zidisha app, that my loan has expired but when I opened it ,it read that my loan application is pending review by Zidisha staff. My question is why contradicting information?
Two I have a friend of mine who has posted her new loan application and on the dashboard it is written her application is pending review, my question is there are some people who are taken to waiting list while others their application undergo review without being fast put on waiting list.
Imagine being put on waiting list for over 8 days and today my application is pending review while someone else post a loan application today she has informed also her loan is pending review just like mine which has stayed for over 8 days.Is this fair to me???
My interpretation was once put on waiting list immediately your application is published, you be sure that your loan will be funded 100%.
Kindly clarify to me this I have started losing hope.
Hi Dave ,
I applied for a loan and was put on waiting list but when I edited I was told that it has expired and it has been a week since I applied. I tried again but it never posted again . Am really down and afraid.
