About Me

I am an entrepreneur , a nutritionist by training. I have worked variously formally and informally. I run a start up called Glofha general supplies and a women empowerment group called kaleluya women self help group. Besides this I run a business of money transfer and rental units which I have been slowly progressing thanks to Zidisha.
I come from a very humble back ground but discipline , hard work and honesty has really shaped my life and blessed my fortunes.

My Business

I run a dairy farm now with 2 Fresian cows which calved in Dec , I sell milk and use that for feed and save the rest. I equally farm maize and beans and other vegetables in a 2 acre piece of land .
I have rental units that give me a regular monthly income that support me and my family.

Loan Proposal

I have farmed an acre of tomatoes and an acre of maize , which i expect to harvest in a months time. I purpose to harvest and sell the maize while green on cobs. The tomatoes are doing well and only has a month to harvest. Being an open field the tomatoes are prone to so many challenging situations. We have very serious pests that need constant spraying. The pesticides are quite expensive and while i was prepared for the costs, i have fallen short of the the preliminary purchases of the pesticides. So by getting the loan , i will be sure to have the crop not suffer an attack of the pests like tuta absoluta.

Income Source

As a farmer i have learnt that we never run short of the market to supply our farm produce. Once i harvest my produce i have a ready market for both the maize and the tomatoes. The municipal market of our small town in Kitale is open under strict instructions from the ministry of health and that is where we shall be supplying our produce on wholesale. From this i shall be able to repay the loan in weekly installments. The maize will be harvested in two stages since we planted with a two weeks difference, the tomatoes as well has a harvest spread of six weeks. So with this i shall be able to raise and repay my loan on time.
