My name is Fredrick Rybarczyk and these days, I'm running a pretty successful company in the IT industry. I'm a father of four and I teach children computer programming in my free time.
I undertook my first entrepreneurial project when I was 17 years old when a thought struck me. There will be around 1000 people at an outdoor sports competition outside of town this weekend. These guys will need to eat. What if I borrow a BBQ, ask for credit in a local shop to get meat, vegetables, bread, soft drinks and so on. Could it possibly work?
I literally walked in to the first store on the road and explained what I wanted to do and asked people I've never met before in my life if they could possibly supply me with what I needed. Amazingly, I got all I asked for. No questions, just a hand shake and a big smile.
I spent a happy weekend BBQ:ing, fixing plates of food for hungry people. When I ran out of supply, I changed my business model and started to take orders, called a pizza restaurant and had them to prepare 50 pizzas and I asked a friend who had a car to get them for me.
Looking back, it is a great feeling to think about the kindness of the people that put their trust in me. But even more important, I proved to myself that I could create a business. After repaying everyone in full, I made a profit of almost $1000.
My point is that this is all about you. I hope you will have as rewarding an experience from your efforts as I did.
