About Me

I am Amos ,I am the second born son in our family mong six children, I went to Amagoro primary school and then st Pauls Amukura for secondary education.I then joined Bukura for certificate in agribusiness management.
The hardship I faced after college was getting a meaningful job, I was not able to get any job in Nairobi and therefor decided to relocate to my rural area to try my hand in poultry farming.,starting the business was not easy as it required heavy capital injection,I took a loan from a friend of $50 that I used to buy 3 0 birds, after six months they started laying eggs and brooded ,I now have a stock of 400 birds and my target is 1000 chicken.
I have one child named Amos Junior, he is 5 years old and wants to be a doctor when he grows , up.I am working hard to give home quality education,so that he achieves his dreams.
I am a politician and I always believe poverty can be alleviated in Africa once corruption and tribalism is defeated.

My Business

I provide poultry and poultry products i.e eggs and manure to my customers. The demand for indigenous chicken has risen due to good meat quality. I sell my eggs to hotels and sell fertilized eggs to other farmers. the demand for these goods is high because of low supply.
I choose poultry farming because it is very profitable venture and keeping the birds gives me job satisfaction,my monthly expenditure is $100 per month ,I do not spend much on feeds since I practice free range.my monthly revenues are $300 per month.
I use the proceeds from the poultry business to take care of my family and save for reinvestment as well as my diploma in farm management course.

Loan Proposal

Hey lenders,I am very thankful for the first loan God bless you. I am kindly asking to borrow $190 to help me buy 100 birds at cost of $100 and buy feeds $90 these would help me double my stock and revenues. I would be very grateful ,thank you in advance

Hi Amos, I am hoping you will be able to make even small payments on your loan. You were doing so well for months, and I imagine something bad happened to keep you from paying in time. I wish you the best. Please communicate with your lenders so we know what is happening. Even if you pay back late, as long as you are making progress, then your lenders will have faith in you for future loans.

Lenders I just want you to know that many chickens died in Kenya just few months ago due to disease that went through the country, probably the avian flu that killed millions in the USA. I know because I have family and friends there who lost their chickens. This could be what happened to Amos although I am not making excuses for him. Some people don't communicate very well for various reasons.

    Hi Amos,
Are you alright? I noticed you have missed making payments. Please contact [email protected] to change your payment schedule if you need to, it is important to make regular payments even if they are small because it helps you to acquire loans in the future. I hope all is well. Regards, Margaret

    Amos,
Can you please explain the extension of your granted loan from 3 months to 5 years? Like others I am unhappy about this deviation of repayment schedule to your proposed term on your initial loan proposal.
This will in no doubt reflect on your ability to raise future loans as lenders will take a very dim view to this type of behaviour.
Extremely unfair to lenders who cycle the capital to other projects.

Amos. You've extended the loan duration from 3 months to 60 months (5 years!!). If you're struggling then I think folks would understand extending it from 3 months to maybe 4, 5 or 6 months. But to 5 years? This is unreasonable. I can't support lending to you any more if this continues. Not happy. Mark

Well done Amos for repaying off your loan.
Like Mark Walmsley, I was also concerned about the time extension on your previous Loan that thankfully you sorted and I will once again support your loan attempt.
Keep up the good work and keep us informed.

Amos, I'm very unhappy as a lender that you would extend a 3 month loan to 46 months. I exclusively lend for 3 month periods. You've denied me the opportunity to lend to 12 other people during this period by doing this. Please shorten the loan back to so 6 months. Mark

Amos, why is the term of this loan 46 months now? I understand you might have difficulty but why extend by 3 years? Mark
