About Me

My name is Damson Barasa. I was born to Mr. John Barasa and the late Sarah Baraza, who I never got a chance to see,I am told she passed on while giving birth to me,may she rest in piece. I am the last born in a family of 6. I schooled upto O-level at Mundika Boys secondary school.
I started keeping rabbits while in secondary school to cater for my expenses, because my parents dad could not afford my school fees. I kept rabbits in small scale and could sell them to buy books and pens incase dad had no money . After secondary school ,a friend lend me $30 that i used to build a bigger house and expand my business. The business has slowly expanded and i currently have 34 rabbits though my aim is 300 rabbits.
I come from luhya community, our culture include traditional dancing and singing.
I am a soccer player and during my free time i join my friends to play.I also dedicate some time to visit those with various problems orphans, sick and old just to talk and motivate them.

My Business

I am a rabbit keeper, currently I have 34 rabbits. I generate revenues through sell of rabbits ,manure and urine.
Most rabbits waste provide very good manure and I use it in my small vegetable farm and also sell to organic farmers . The rabbit meat is preferred by most people who dont like red meat and the demand has steadily risen over the years.
I choose this business because i had experience in rabbit keeping and had ready market for the them.
I spend 50 dollers on average and get 200 dollers in a good month from the sales. I use my profits to pay fees for niece, save to reinvest and support our family general upkeep.

Loan Proposal

Honorable lenders, I hope you are fine. I take this opportunity to submit my request for a loan to buy 40 more rabbits. I have struggled and constructed a new rabbitry unit which has not been under utilized since December 2014 when it was completed because i ran short of cash, $100 loan will be a big boost to my farm. Thank you in advance.
