About Me

I am married and have one child. I completed professional training in clothing production after high school, and launched my own business in 2000. I created a clothing shop on the island of Carabane where I employ youth of the island village who receive training and full-time jobs, and at the same time I provide training to the young women of the village who wish to learn to produce clothing. I decided to start my own business when I realized that I could make it on my own just like the rest of the world. I also support my family with what I can earn from my business activities. Je suis mariée, et mère d’un enfant. Après des études secondaires (lycée), j’ai une formation en couture et depuis l’an 2000, je me suis lancée dans mon propre business. J’ai donc créé un atelier de couture dans l’île de Carabane et j’ai employé des jeunes de l’écovillage qui y sont formés et y travaillent en plein temps et en même temps j’y assure la formation des jeunes filles du village que désirent apprendre à coudre Je me suis lancé dans la création de mon propre business depuis que je me suis rendu compte que je pouvais faire comme tout le monde ; Je compte aussi soutenir ma famille avec ce que je peux gagner en menant mes activités.

My Business

I decided to start my own business when I realized that I could make it on my own just like the rest of the world. I also support my family with what I can earn from my business activities.
I now aim to open a boutique in Dakar (the capital city), in order to grow my business and provide a profitable sales outlet for the clothing production boutique in Carabane, thereby securing employment for the young people who work and earn a living there. I would like to expand my business by producing more clothing and selling them outside the island. (This is a translation of the original French written by Madame Diallo below.)

Mes activités consisteront à ouvrir une boutique de couture à Dakar pour agrandir mon business et faire en sorte que celle de Carabane puise continuer à produire afin de sauvegarder l’emploi des jeunes qui y travaillent et y trouvent leur gagne pain quotidien. Je voudrais élargir mes activités en produisant plus d’habits et en pouvant les vendre ailleurs que d’ans l’île.
