About Me

I grew up in machakos county in a family of six. Our place the population is low, because it rarely rains and very hilly....most young people have been dragged into alcohol abuse and youth unemployment is so high. We buy food from neighboring counties at very high price, our parents really struggled to put food on the table, they depended on casual jobs to put food on the table and pay fees. I went to school where I was on and off because of fees challenge but this did not kill my dream at least to get basic education, At one point I had to drop out of school and stayed at home for three years after being sent away because I had not paid fees,This was very scary and my uncle came in where he took me back to school where he paid my fees till forth form,he took me to college where I studied embroidery for one year after searching jobs I decided to open my venture through my savings.
I live in Machakos with my 2 children, I dream to educate my children and empower them with what I have at the moment hoping for a better tomorrow. I dream also to help single mothers who are many and the numbers growing daily to empower them to be self reliant and put some hope and encourage them

My Business

I make dresses and table mats mostly.

I started the business in the year 2007 April.

The reason I started doing business its because I wanted to meet my needs and for my four children especially after my husband left me alone for another woman with four children to take care of.

My biggest challenge is funds to enable me buy materials to make dresses and table mats constantly.
I make profits of 15000 KES which I use to meet my family needs.

My customers are friends, road passers and neighbors who know my business.

My goal is to operate large scale, create jobs and business to sustain itself and also to train many more children in the slum to be self reliant through my venture.

Loan Proposal

Given the loan I'll use it to purchase fifty rolls of beautiful materials for making table mats at a cost of $350.
A set of table mat each goes for $25 each. My expenses add up to about $40 including delivery fee thus will be making $15 profit from each sets. I already got orders from my clients thus I look forward to increase in revenue and profit. Thank you zidisha family for your support to my business
