I am the fist born in a family of two currently living in Bathi village with my grandmother. I finished high school last year and got a C+ score in my KCSE exam. My mum (who was a single parent) passed on when I was of tender age and left us under the care of our grandmother who has taken care of me and my younger sister until now. Seeing my grandmother struggle to raise us up has made me want to try and become somebody in this life, help myself, my grandmother and my younger sister. My grandma is aging and she is increasingly becoming unable to take care of us. Soon or later, I will be left to take care of my sister bearing in mind that my extended family is not well off. She just joined high school and is faring well through bursary funds. Right now I’m a farmer, selling fresh farm produce at the local Kimende market. I use the money to buy household goods for use at home and save the rest in an account I’ve opened with Equity Bank. My aim is to save enough for my college fees. I like reading and listening to music during my free time
I am a full time farmer. I grow fresh vegetables like cabbage, kales, spinach and potatoes. I also grow courgette and beets for sale in Marikiti market in Nairobi. Kimende has seen an influx of population as people seek cheaper accommodation far from the city. This has seen a rise in demand for fresh vegetables. I personally have 8 customers who I supply with fresh vegetables twice a week. The rest of the produce is sold in Kimende market. I space the planting periods so that I can have fresh produce every month. During dry seasonsI irrigate the land using the water from the nearby Bathi River. I have been farming since my high school days, so I am well acquainted with the weather and I know what to plant at what time. I make $ 200 to $ 300 every month. I want to get in to rabbit farming to increase the earnings and should my account get approved I will apply for a loan towards that venture. In the meantime my income from farming will service the loan. Most of my proceeds go to my saving account for my college fees.
Thank You in advance

I finished high school last year and have been doing farming since then. The main aim why I ventured into farming is to raise school fees for my college education so that I can take care of myself, my younger sister and grandma who has brought me this far after mum passed away when we were still young.
I mainly grow fresh vegetables like carrot, cabbage, courgette, beets and kales. I sell the products at the local kimende market. I make between $ 200 to $ 300 every month. After buying fertilizer, seedling and household goods for use at home, I save the rest in my saving accounts to pile enough money for my education.
The reason why I'm requesting this loan is to start rabbit farming and increase my income in the process. Rabbit farming is easy and the market is adequate in my area. It will be also easy to take care of the rabbits after I have joined college since all I will have to do is fetch for feeding leaves over the weekend and leave my younger sister to feed them when I'm in school. With the current income, I will able to service and repay the loan fully.
I trust there are people out there who are willing to support my course and I promise not to let you down.
God bless you as you contribute towards my loan.
