About Me

First, thank you to everyone who will be kind to help me expand my business. I am a certified Public accountant who graduated from Nairobi Aviation College in July 2013. After graduating I ventured into selling of second hand clothes and shoes at Gikomba market as I seek for employment. My business is currently worthy $400. As a certified accountant, I know how to study business trend and as a result I usually stock what is on high demand. I will use the fundings given Zidisha to expand my business by using social media (facebook) to promote and deliver the clothes and shoes to my clients. Online marketing is a great business venture not fully exploited despite the large potential audience. Second clothes, are liked by most Kenyans due to their uniqueness and outstanding fashions. As a result, selling second hand clothes and shoes can fetch good profit from every piece sould at times up to 100-200% profit. Bust schedule among th working class prohibits them from visiting second hand markets. Such people are willing to pay handsomely to have the product delivered at their door step. It is quite rare to find exactly same designed clothes among second hand clothes. During my free time I like window shopping; this helps me identify products/services on high demand, I also like reading inspiration stories and visiting recreational places.

My Business

My main source of income is selling of second hand clothes in a popular second hand market in Kenya called Gikomba. Currently I earn a profit of $375-400 per month. If awarded this loan, I will be able to increase my monthly profit to $500 since I will be able to reach out to online buyers. Most buyers can not afford to visit the market due to busy schedule and are willing to pay a good price if delivered at their home/work place. I also write Business plan proposal at a range of $40-80 per proposal. Most of the people selling at the market I have a stall do not have business plans and hence do not know their short and long term plans, while interacting with them, I encourage them on the importance of having business plan for their business.

Loan Proposal

I have identified unexploited opportunities in e-Marketing specifically through the use of social media platforms such as Facebook. I will use the loan to buy more used (second-hand) clothes and shoes and market them online. Most people due to busy schedule are not able to visit our business stalls. Promoting my products online will help me reach out to more potential buyers which will in turn increase my sales. I will offer to deliver the products at their home/work place. Financing my loan proposal will empower me financially. You will also be indirectly helping me educate my siblings. I use part of my income to help my mother pay my siblings education. Kindly help me by financing my business and promise to promptly repay my loan so that it can also benefit more needy people.
