About Me

I am a second year student at university of Eldoret pursuing a diploma course in animal husbandry.I come from a family of 5.3 brothers and 2 sisters.my three siblings are in secondary schools whereas my younger sister is in class eight sitting for her final exam this year.My mum and dad are both primary school teachers with little income that cannot comfortably pay all of our fees and cater for our basic needs.Due to this,as the oldest brother,i borrowed ksh 40,000 from my uncle to start a small shop at Eldoret's main stage near Komora centre where i sell products ranging from perishables e.g cakes and bread,bottled-water,soft-drinks,airtime,cooking utensils and stationary.From the profits gotten,i restock my shop,pay commutation fees,bills and the rest i save for my fees.

My Business

My shop is known as "Amani shop" meaning peace.I opened it last year November with a starting capital of ksh 40,000.I sell a wide variety of products ranging from bottled-water,soft drinks,airtime,cooking utensils,stationary and perishables i.e cakes and bread.My monthly profits after deducting expenses range from between ksh 17,000 to ksh 25,000.Most customers prefer my shop since i give discounts if goods are bought in bulk and also the fact that my shop is centally located at the heart of Eldoret's main stage makes me get alot of customers who are passengers.My greatest challenge as of now is that i lack a fridge and my soft drinks hardly sell since most people prefer cold to warm drinks.If given the loan,i intend to add it up with my savings and buy a brand new fridge;this will greatly boost my drinks-monthly sale.If given the loan,ill use some of my monthly profits to repay it and the rest ill restock my shop and also pay some of my fees and also my siblings fee.I greatly believe that if given the loan,it will not only help expand my shop but also give me a fair chance of improving the living standards of my siblings.

Loan Proposal

If given the loan,ill use a quater of it to physically expand my shop and another 3000 shillings to restock it.The rest ill add it up together with my savings and buy a brand new fridge.This will greatly boost the sales of my drinks since most customers prefer cold to warm drinks.In so doing,ill not only improve my monthly sales but also fulfill the dream of owning one.Through this loan,ill not only be able to comfortably assist my siblings financially but also ill have the chance to help my community at large by providing them with foodstuffs of their preferences.Ill repay the loan from the profits i get after restocking my shop and paying my bills
