About Me

I have a family of two. I live within Olive Inn near Kiamunyi. I run a charcoal business. This is a business that i have done for the last seven years. It feeds, clothes, pays fees for my children as well as shelter. Iam a college graduate with a tailoring course and managerial skills.
This is a sustainable business considering that its not perishable. After thorough research, i found out that charcoal was a scarce commodity within my area of residence and most people spent time and money to go to town to buy the commodity.Hence that is how this business started.

My Business

My business is both retail and wholesale.I deal with charcoal. My customers prefer this service because its used on a regular basis compared to gas and kerosene. Also a bigger percentage of people use this commodity.Well, at the moment i have not seen a serious competition since iam the sole supplier in the area in terms of retail and wholesale. The only challenge is when the prices shoots either due to transportation on rainy seasons and as well i have known how to counter this.My monthly runs to Kshs. 50,000 and after sales is double what i spend. This means that iam running a profitable business at the end of the day.
Given the opportunity from all spheres i intend to open other branches where this commodity is scarce.

Hi Hyline - I'm certain that you meant to complete your loan with your recent payment. You are way ahead of schedule which is a certain sign of your success. There is a small matter of $0.22 that is most likely an error caused by currency conversion and it's not important other than the system won't close your current loan until this is resolved.

I definitely will support your lending requirements in the future and look forward to being able to provide a positive endorsement.

Thanks a lot my lenders for supporting me.I hereby wish to apologize for the delay in the repayment of my loan as scheduled. The month of January has been a very difficult month for business to do well. As well, this was the month that we prepare children to go to school and i was really constrained to the limit. Am therefore requesting to be given up to 4th of March 2014 to clear the outstanding arrears.Kindly.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, we noticed that a loan repayment of 1,466 KES (17.82 USD) sent by Ms Nyambati on November, 16 was not registered in her repayment schedule which has been updated accordingly.

Ms Nyambati, we are sorry for this inconvenience and we wish you all the best with your business!

I wish to apologize to all my lenders that i was unable to clear as per the agreement and dates of repayment. I was away in the rural village where accessibility of M-Pesa has not reached. I wish to pay this money by 15th of November covering October and November 2013. Sorry for any inconveniences caused.
    Thanks.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that the repayment of 30.39 USD (2,500 KES) posted on September, 18 in the repayment schedule of Ms Nyambate was entered with an incorrect amount by mistake. I have now deleted the wrong repayment and reposted the correct amount, i.e. an amount of 17.83 USD (1,466 KES). This means that, upon removal of the incorrect transaction, the amount that had been credited to your lender account will be reversed and will reduce your available balances accordingly.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please, let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best regards,

    Roberta
    Zidisha Team

    Dear Mrs. Nyambati,
Your second payment arrived already today, and I thank you for that. You are a business woman of your good word.
I hope you are doing well selling charcoal. Will the new government regulations put a stop to your business in the future?
I am interested in how you are getting along. Please let me know as you have time.
    best wishes,
    marvin

I wish to apply for the extension of one month on my loan application for the reason that the charcoal business went down due to government regulations and it proved difficult to get adequate supplies and the business went down a bit. That is why I'm requesting for one more month so that i can add up one and one to make two for a substantial amount to be repaid back as earlier stated in my loan application.
However, i look forward to disbursing the amount as now rescheduled. I also wish to thank my donors as partners who granted me the loan to carry on the business. I promise to be sending updates as and when appropriate.
Thanks so much for your cooperation and good will.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Sincerely Yours,
    Hyline Nyambati

To all Zidisha Team, This is to let you know that i have received the loan and i will put it to the required use for maximization of profits. I will be forwarding progressive reports on the same. I appreciate your efforts in making sure that poverty has been eradicated and that people become self-reliant in the long run.
This is what this current generation requires. Self-sustainability and therefore growth economically, socially and politically.
