About Me

My name is Jane Karimi, a single mother of one child and a resident of Embu County in Kenya. I am the first born in a family of six children. After completing high school, I got employment in a tea-processing factory where I worked for one year. I quit the employment to begin my own business because my salary was meagre and could not cover my basic expenses. I used my little saving I had and now I own a boutique. For now, I am challenged financially and my stock is limited. However, I plan and hope to begin producing clothes, and hopefully have my own brand besides selling other brands.

My Business

I own a boutique that sells mainly women and children clothes. Demand for my clothes is high because clothes are basic needs and women constantly buy clothes. The demand is even higher during the festive seasons such as Christmas. My vision is to produce clothes and make custom-made ones and probably have my own brand. Typical costs include monthly rent of 6,000 KES, cost of goods that varies with the amount of stock, and transportation cost that is around 1000 KES to 2000 KES.

Loan Proposal

I plan to use the money to increase my stock and the profit I will make from sales I will use it to purchase a sewing machine, which will allow me to start making clothes at my shop. I am very grateful for your consideration.
