I am a teacher by proffesion and am employed by the Government of Kenya as a Mathematical and Science teacher at Bujumba Primary School. Besides that i run a small retail shop in Bumala of which at the moment have employed one person to make sales while at my job.I started this busines seven years ago after completing my teaching course and failure by the Government to employee us immediately.
The capital which i used to start this business i was given by my father. Before i was employed it's this busines that used to pay all my bill.
I have so many customers because my prices are fair and because Bumala is a growing town customers increases day in day out. And because of big sales i am able to get good profit. The risk i have been facing is lack of capital to expand my business. My average monthly cost is KES 60,000 with sales of upto KES 80,000 and profit of KES 20,000 per month. The loan i will get from Zidisha i shall invest in the business because it's the business that will pay the loan but in case of any problem i will use my salary to repay the loan.
With this loan i will be able to add enough stock in my shop.I will purchase forty litres of cooking oil at KES 5,200,two sacks 50kg packed each of sugar at KES 11,000,five bales of baking flour at KES 7,200,packed mumias sugar, tea, coffee, magerines, royco, four bales of flour at KES 5,800,pampers,cooking fat.The whole amount i am going to invest in my shop.
