About Me

My names are Caren Atieno.I am the last born in a family of 4 children;2 girls and 2 boys.I was born on 08 June 1989.I went to Itumbu primary school and later joined Ebusakami secondary school.I sat for my KCSE examination in the year 2005 and managed to obtain a mean grade of C PLAIN.Due to financial hardships I did not enroll to any college for further studies.I began doing casual jobs like working in a hotel as a waiteress in order to support my aunt whom I lived with since my parents passed away when I was 2 years old.In the year 2010 I started selling sukuma wiki and tomatoes this is because the hotel where I used to work got burned down by hooligans thus rendering me jobless. The unque thing about the culture where I live in is that many people have opened small businesses and they are doing marvelous. My children always tell me that when they grow up they want to do business like me.When I am free I go to church to practise for choir since I am enrolled in a church choir

My Business

In the year 2011 my husband gave me 50 Us dollars and I decided to shift my business to clothes selling both new and second hand clothes. This business flourished within a very short time because the population is very high where I live.I get the profit I get from the business to support my husband with the house budgets and also paying school fees for our children.God has blessed us with 3 children;1 girl and 2 boys. For now my business stock is at 109 Us dollars.I needed to incorporate shoe selling in my business but finances does not allow me.I trust Zidisha will help me solve this.

Loan Proposal

First of all I want to thank zidisha for the first loan which enabled me to boost my stock by 50%.If my second application shall be considered, I will 3/4 of the money to purchase mitumba clothes and the remaining I will use to add shoes stock. This is because some of my customers are not able to afford the price of the new clothes and since I need to retain them I should look into a way of meeting their needs. If my request shall be put into consideration I will really appreciate. Thanks in advance.
