I am Wallace Chege, 33 years old, married with 2 children and I live in Dagoretti Constituency.
I have a kiosk that sells household items from plastic materials to edible goods.
I went to Iyego High School and graduated in 2001 with a good mark, but I could not join a higher learning institution due to lack of money.
I started the business to take care of my family as I empower myself economically.
Besides supporting my family the earnings are used to expand my small business.
I love watching and playing soccer during my free time. I also read novels and business journals.
My dream is to own a number of supermarkets. I believe with the growing number of apartments (market base) around and a helping hand from Zidisha I will achieve my dream.
My business deals with household items both durable and perishable, e.g. plastic items, kichenware, sugar, flour etc. I also sell durable and fresh goods.
The demand for these goods rises every minute due to the rising number of people in the neighborhood.
Many customers prefer my shop because of the good customer relations and service. I treat every customer with all the respect that he/she deserves in order to win their hearts.
The business is very profitable if you have a lot of goods. This brings a lot of customers who end up becoming lifelong customers.
Currently I am losing some crucial customers due to a shortage of some goods. This is a bad trend which might result in my close down.
My monthly turn over ranges from Kshs80000 to Kshs100000. I am able to make a profit of about Kshs 20000 to Ksh 30000 every month.
Sales from the goods will help repay the loan.
The loan will help with the purchase of more stock for my business.
With the December holidays around the corner demand for household goods will increase. I can only make some more money if I add more stock to my business. I am very comfortable that the lenders will fund my loan.
With this loan I intend to add, among other items, goods such as:
1. Bales of wheat flour, its demand always rises with the holidays
2. Sacks of flour
Thank you for helping me, it is really appreciated.
