I grew up in Kiambu county in Thika. I began school in Nairobi County both my primary and high school. i finished high school successfully but i could not proceed to college because my parents could not afford to pay for my college education. while growing up i assisted my mother to do her business every day i came from school, that's how i developed interest to start my own business.
i had passion for making furniture from timber and wood, therefore i stared a small workshop for making furniture.
my future dream is to ensure that i grow my business and employ more staff, by doing so i will impact other peoples lives positively.
My business entails making furniture i.e beds, tables, wall-units, cabinates, sofa-sets etc from wood and timber. i decided to start my business after completing my secondary school and i lacked funds to continue my college education. my biggest challenge however is lack of sufficient capital to help me boost my business, my customers include schools, the neighbours that surround me and friends. my future goals is to employ more staff to assist me run the business. i am proud that i am now self employed, i can make a living from the earning i make and it has improved my standard of living.
I am going to spend the loan in purchasing timber, it will cost me $180 and the rest of the money i will use in payment of transportation and labor.
This timber will enable me to make more furniture, which will lead to making more sales which will result to more profits. After i make more profit, this will help me save more and improve my standard of living and the give my family a better life.
