My name is Serwaa Ruth Harriet. I come from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region. I am 32 years old. I started my basic education at AKAB Complex School at Berekum and continued at Techiman Senior Secondary school. After completing, I decided to continue my tertiary education in one of the tertiary institutions, but due to financial difficulties I was withdrawn from college. I am now married and blessed with two boys.
When I was in the secondary school, I developed a habit of selling so when I was withdrawn from college, I started a petty trading. I was engaged in the selling of onion, garden eggs, tomatoes, pepper and many more. I entered into the selling of clothes in 2012 with a based capital of about 600 dollars.
I am punctual at church, decent and humble. I am currently the church youth group.
I started my clothes business in 2012 with a based capital of about 600 dollars. This money was raised from a profit I had when I was in a petty trading. I entered into clothes selling after studying the market in the area where I am living. I saw that there is nobody living in the area and sells clothes. The people who sells clothes to us are all from different areas so I decided to change my petty trading to clothes selling.
At first it was difficult in getting customers but when people find out that I was in clothes business, they all started coming to me. Now when there is a programme in my community and even my church, people order clothes from me. People in my area and church trust me a lot so sometimes, I am giving the to buy them clothes that I am not having. I am able to make a profit of about 75 dollars in a week. I use some of the profit to pay for my children school fees.
I am looking forward to expand my business by renting a store room to display my clothes. And also be able to employ people to help me distribute my clothes. I estimate about 3000 dollars for my expansion work.
REPAYMENT
I will be able to repay any loan offered me from the profit from the sale of the clothes.
I am going to use the loan to purchase some additional clothes and materials. A piece of cloth cost 15 dollars and also a piece of material cost 40 dollars. This will help me to distribute clothes and materials to my buyers during programs like wedding ceremonies, naming ceremonies, birthdays, and others. The loan will help me to increase my profit. It is going help me to pay for the services of my employees and also pay the school fees of my children and provide them their needs.
