About Me

I am a graduate of the University of Cape Coast. I offered courses in the Biological Sciences and eventually majored in Aquaculture. I am married with no child yet. I have an aged mother who is dependent on me, and two other siblings whose school fees are my responsibility.

Like most of my peers that I grew up with, I had the interest in overturning the tables of extreme poverty. This I figured is possible if I got educated. The road has not at all been easy, and even though I am clear in my mind about what I wanted to do in the future, there were times when I felt that circumstances were just beyond my control such that I may not be able to achieve my goals afterall. That notwithstanding I am a firm believer in the saying that ‘where there is a will; there always is a way’. At less than 10 years of age, I helped my parents as farm hand in order to be able to get enough money to go to basic school. During my final years of Junior High School, my father got employed by an international NGO. This change in circumstance made things much easier for me to complete basic school. Unfortunately, however, just after completion and during my first year in Senior High School, my dad lost his job. This new negative change made Senior High School extremely difficult for me. I had to work by hawking in order to pay my fees. On weekends, I had to do menial jobs including working on construction sites and assisting market women to sell produce in order to raise money to feed myself and save for school fees. After managing to finish senior high school by this method, things didn't change for the best. When I gained admission to the University of Cape Coast, it was a very sad period for me since raising money to pay for admission was just not feasible. At this time, my dad had lost his life and things had gotten worse than before. I was eventually able to pay my way through school through the benevolence of well wishers. The fees for the subsequent three years were just terrible. The least said about them the better. As for the number of times I had to write exams on empty stomach, only I can tell. However, the spirit of endurance which I developed during infancy whiles working as farm hand helped me to pull through this difficult period in my life. Eventually, here I am with expertise in aquaculture (particularly in shrimp culture).

My Business

SIBECK Shrimp Farms is into shrimp farming. We desire to culture shrimp postlarvae to growout stage inland using the environmentally friendly technique called biofloc technology. We have done our detailed market research and feasibility studies and we were able to secure two hectares of land to start our seafood aquaculture business.

We are in the Fish and Seafood Aquaculture industry because we want to leverage on the vast opportunities available in the agriculture industry, to contribute our quota in growing the Ghanaian economy, in national food production, and also to seafood from Ghana to other countries and over and above to make profit.

SIBECK Shrimp Farms is well positioned to become the second shrimp farming business in Ghana, which is why we have been able to source for the best hands and machines to run the company with. We have put process and strategies in place that will help us employ best practices when it comes to shrimp farming processes as required by the regulating bodies in Ghana.

At SIBECK Shrimp Farms, our customer’s best interest will always come first, and everything we do will be guided by our values and professional ethics. We will ensure that we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards by meeting our client’s needs precisely and completely. We will cultivate a working environment that provides a human, sustainable approach to earning a living, and living in our world, for our partners, employees and for our clients.

SIBECK Shrimp Farms is a private, yet to be registered shrimp farming company that is owned by Simon and Wife.

Loan Proposal

The loan is intended to be used to start purchasing components of an aeration system needed to sustain the growing shrimps/fish.
the actual cost of the components are beyond what this loan amount can buy so I intend to look for additional money elsewhere.
