About Me

I am a 28 year old Kenyan living in Nakuru, Kenya. I am lucky to be staying in Nakuru town because I was raised up in the semi arid region of Mogotio in the great rift valley. Moving to this place for my studies was a milestone and I believe it’s an inspiration to many kids in the family and entire village. I moved here at the age of 25 to pursue my undergraduate degree in commerce and I am aspiring to work in a bank. I started school at the age of 9.
2012 was not the first time I visited Nakuru town because I studied in moi forces academy, Lanet. Which is in the outskirts of Nakuru. But what I remember most like it was yesterday was my first day in nakuru. My mother took me to the annual agricultural exhibition show in Nakuru and it was a great honor at first to get that opportunity. I was 10 years old then.
Once we entered the arena there were thousands of people, parents held their children close to them as they watched shows and performances. I saw kids eating ice cream and I wondered what are they eating. At some point my mother had to pull my hand because I was rooted looking at people and the way they dressed.
Around midday there was a stampede caused by gunshots after robbers attacked a minister who was heading to the arena. There was commotion and I lost sight of my mother. I cried for almost 2 hours not knowing where to go. All I knew was my mother’s name; mama as we called her. In our tradition kids are not allowed to know their mothers name at young age. People took me to the advertisement corner late in the evening where my mother found me shaken. I feared urban life and since I am the eldest child it also affected my siblings.

My Business

My business
I have always had the aspiration to own a soft drink business. I hail from a region where the temperatures can extremely get high. Mogotio is a small town in Baringo county linking the world to the famous lake bogoria which is full of hot springs and geysers. Mogotio also lies along the equator making the high temperatures make sense.
I want to sell cocacola prodcts and also pepsi ones to offer a wide variety for people who travel along that route. I will sell even water and milk since I have seen there is no other soft drink parlor in our region. The soft drinks are in demand since there are a lot of tourists requesting and also because the climate of our region is constant.
I chose the business because of the availability of business niche and also because it’s my passion to be in the soft drinks industry. I also have talked with the management of kobil petrol station to sell from their station. selling from that point will make me attract many customers since they fuel from that place. I have also acquired two refrigerators from coca cola and Pepsi. All I need is to top up my stock so that I can effectively run the business.
My typical revenue per month is fair from the start and I hope to grow bit by bit. My total revenue I expect a minimum of 290 dollars and I will also spend around 154 dollars in the same duration. I want to improve my business by reinvesting back to the business and also save some for my school fees. I want to make mogotio a destination which will be re known not only for her famous goat meat but also the soft drink empire I am hoping to set up.

Loan Proposal

Loan proposal soft drinks
Given this loan I will set up a foundation to launch my soft drink empire which will make me achieve my dream. I intend to use the loan to exactly top up my stock since I have already set up the fridges given to me by the two soft drinks companies- coca cola and Pepsi.
I am planning to buy 5 crates of coca cola plastic soda and cans then add three crates of Pepsi crates. A crate of Pepsi costs 470ksh or 5 dollars. While coca cola crates cost 6 dollars each. I will buy crates worth 48 dollars. 48 dollars is an equivalent of 4300 ksh. Then I will purchases wipers in the remaining amount and try to grow my business bit by bit.
Each can of coca cola goes for 38 ksh. and I sell at 55 ksh which is the recommended retail price. If I sell more I get more and since demand and market is readily available I am hoping to grow week by week.
I will re-invest my profits in the business and hope to start an empire I have been dreaming of. I will repay my loan each week because I will be comfortable paying 600 ksh per week.
