Self driven entrepreneur, Trained computer programmer who likes to solve small and medium business problems like marketing, accounting, logistics, sales and communication with simple technical solutions. I also like to continually learn to create better products and to fit into the continually adjusting technology industry. I construct an array of solutions that include websites, web based systems, stand-alone computer applications and network computer applications among others. I have a passion for Information Technology and would relish an opportunity to increase the chances of success in this domain of practice.

My Business

I run Achi Systems, A business in which I build computer applications (Desktop and Web-based applications), websites and website content management systems for small and medium organizations. The business is a registered start-up. I mostly construct websites and web-based applications from scratch to meet client demands and desires to the specifics. It's also technically beneficial since I get to set tools and controls the way I deem fittest and I gain full control of my designs. These services are my main business activity and constitute the main source of my income.

Loan Proposal

The web applications and websites development section of my business is picking well. I also plan to diversify by venturing into mobile applications development, targeting small businesses and organizations that need data collection and management tools for their operations. I have received several inquiries including one for a field data collection application to run on low cost android tablets for a local Non-Governmental and I find this area worth the attention.
I use android development studio to construct my applications. This software is free for developers. However, for best results in the development experience, I need devices with which I can test:
- The functionality,
- Appearance
- Usability of the applications I develop.
These tools are a 10 inch screen android tablet running a minimum of Android 4.4 (Kit Kat version) and 16 GB internal storage. The second device is a regular android phone (Techno H7 5 5.1 inches screen, android 4.4 OS).
The Tablet will cost 32,000 KES locally (Approximately 300 USD) while the phone will cost 10,000 KES (Approximately 100 USD) This amounts to 400 USD.
- These items will help me start the mobile applications development section in the business. Besides the applications for businesses, I also intend to start an academic assistance program through which I will be able to assist mobile programming students with development skills at a fee. I already have 5 interested students from local universities (Kenya College of Accountancy, Moi University, Mount Kenya University and Kabarak University).
- This venture is projected to increase the income for the business. I charge a minimum of KSH. 15,000 for the simplest applications and KSH.10,000 for tailored academic assistance and tutorial. With this rate, an average minimum of 20,000 can be made per month at the initiative stages of the business. Growth is expected. Application development in Kenya is picking pace and am thrilled to be part of the revolution. I'll appreciate Zidisha and lenders who fund my project.
