I am the second born in a family of eight. My parents are peasant farmers who by feeding us with a meal is luck because it is hard to get one. I have undergone my O levels and college education where it was so difficult for me to be in school throughout. I had to work for four days in a week to raise my education fee and go to class the rest week days. It reached somewhere that I couldn't be able to go to class again and became a street boy for sometime. In my family i am the breadwinner hence i must work extra harder to meet my families and my needs.
I successfully opened a small kiosks way back in 2010. I used to sell animal feeds only but since i joined Zidisha i have been dealing with animal feeds and mineral licks.
My business has got a title by name Stop-over Agrovet. It is situated in Kigumo town Kiambu County, in Kenya. In my business I have employed one person whom we work with I buy several bags of animal feeds and sell them by either the whole bag or by measuring it into kilograms. In our area daily farming is our economic activity hence making the product to move at a high speed. I buy 10 bags of animal feeds in a week at a cost of 25,000/= and sell them in the same week at a cost of 30,000/= making a profit of 5,000/= a week and in month time pocketing 30,000/= profit. I also sell mineral licks in my business.
If i expound on this figures i am capable of making good profit annually. Am now focused on expanding my business on higher heights and open up other related business branches in my neighbouring village. I also would like to introduce dairy related products and make my business a dairy farming hub for all farmers. Since I joined zidisha, I have grown economically because from the loans I had previously applied from zidisha have helped restock my business. I will be glad if Zidisha Microlending Movement will consider my proposal and fund my business.
Hi lenders if my business funded i will put all the funds to purpose by buying animal supplement for my agrovet. I intend to purchase a 50kg fish meal bag for a cost of$ 50. I will sell a kilo of the same product at a cost of $1.5 per kg making a profit of$ 0.5 in a kg. I will also purchase a 50kg cotton seed-cake bag at a cost of $45. I will sell the same product at a cost of $1.4 making a profit of $0.5 in a kilo. I will also purchase two 50kg soya seed-cake meal at a price of $40 each, hence i will use $80 in the product. The reason for this is that most farmers use soya seed cake in raising their calves. A kilo will go for $1.6 making a profit of $0.8
The business helps the society in many ways because they had to go for very long distance to buy the commodity. It is also a source of income to me and it helps me support our family and educate my younger siblings. Zidisha family i am applying for aloan of ksh 16,000 to purchase animal supplement for my agrovet. When am funded it will help me achive my goal, help the society and also help my family. I will do all my best to see all the loan is repaid. Kindly lenders fund my project .
