I have grown up in Kahawa Wendani with my family. My family comprises of mother, father and 2 sisters. I have completed my secondary and tertiary education then got married.
I am currently residing with my wife and child at a rented house at Kahawa. I am employed by local NGO which supports vulnerable young people to access vocational training. I have established a grocery shop from savings of my salary so that I can generate more income. My business is being managed by a young lady. under the supervision of my lovely wife. My business has various varieties of fresh vegetables and fruits.
I started my grocery business two years ago from savings from my salary so that I can earn more income at the end of the month and also offer opportunity to local people to access fresh fruits and vegetable. My business is run by a young lady under the supervision of my lovely wife and over the weekend I assist them. My business involves selling fresh vegetables and fruits to the local people and the business has been on positive growth because of fresh vegetables and fruits unlike my competitors don't stock fresh fruits and also my sales lady is extremely clean and has good customer skills. I intend to expand my business by introducing other varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables that are not locally grown in our region.
am grateful for the support offered by the Zidisha lenders because I was in position to expand my grocery business and now I have various varieties of fruits and vegetables. The business have been in position to meet various needs of many customers because few grocery stores have fresh fresh fruits and vegetables. My sales have increased and now I have good customer base. I have secured a premises in the community whereby I have established a franchise of my grocery store so that more local residents can access fresh fruits and vegetables. My savings and loan from Zidisha will be used to put up good store shelves at kshs 11600, fresh fruits varieties at kshs 17100, fresh vegetable varieties at kshs 19300 and shopping baskets at kshs 4950. I will dedicate part of my salary and profit from the first grocery store towards repaying the Zidisha loan.
