About Me

Thank you all for the support. My name is Monicah Wangari kabau.I was born in Nyahururu,in a town called Marmanet. In 2010 me and my family moved to Nakuru county at a place called Mawanga, where we have been doing our business.
I am 29 years old and I am married through the Agikuyu customary wedding. Now we are blessed with two children,a boy and a girl.I am a god fearing christian,a loving mother, caring and I am an usher in my church.
At the moment I have a work which is the main back-bone for our family livelihood.I have a shop at the Mawanga center and i sell all types of domestic edible & non edible goods.

My Business

After we moved to Nakuru in the tear 2010,it was tough to get an office employment, which resulted for me and my husband being employed as casual laborers in a nearby factory. We were determined to work harder even sometimes working for extra hours in order to fulfill our dreams of owning a self employed business.
In the year 2012,through our hard work, payers and dedication, this was possible through the small amount of money we were saving. We finally got a saving of Kes.25,000 and we had to look for a room to rent and open a business.I proposed to my husband to open for a grocery shop, which he seconded me of the same.Later after a week,we got the room, which I later went to the wholesale in town to purchase for the goods. The next day i officially opened the shop and i started with selling at an introductory prices,in this case cheaper compared to my competitors within.
The business picked up the sales as days goes by and for God's grace I added another room to expand my small shop. Now I have a bigger room with at least good display to my customers. The shop is normally opened from Monday to Saturday between 06 am to 9;30 pm.
I sell all types of goods, edible & non edible.Currently I am looking forward to expand my shop by purchasing more edible goods, which are on high demand compared to non edible goods. This will make my shop to turn into mini-supermarket,whereby I will also pass the benefit to my loyal customers in all the retail prices of the goods.
By the kind assistance from the Zidisha Microfinance all these is possible.Thank you in advance as I wait for your kind and generous support.Thank you.
