About Me

Hallo all the Zidisha fraternity team.My name is Josephine Waturi Ndaba from Kianyaga sub-location,Kerugoya town-Kirinyaga County,Kenya.I am a Christian member and a choir leader at my local church called Victors Life Chapel's- Church.I am a wife to Mr.Erustus,a mother to two kids Pauline and Shirleen and a committed,dedicated business oriented lady.I practice agriculture in my small piece of land as a means of income.My husband too is employed within the city by a chain of supermarket called Wool-Matt supermarket.Since i cannot fully depend my husband salary,this is what made me to work within my small farm so that i can supplement his income to improve our living standards and the future of our kids.

My Business

My name is Josephine Ndaba.I am a small scale agriculture farmer for profit gaining business.I own a 100 feet by 100 feet plot here in Kerugoya town where i normally live and do my small agribusiness activities.The town is mostly known by the rice farming,but for me I have utilized my small piece of land to cultivate seasonal foods,which mostly takes 3 months to mature.I chose this kind of farming after i saw how most of the people going as far as to the neighboring towns to search for the same produce.
In my small piece of land I have planted tomatoes,Garlic,kale's,cabbages,Gorgets and Dania.For now most of the customers have known my business and they keep coming for the produces whenever they need them in my farm,this has made me make new daily customers for the kales and danias,thus making my business well known by the inhabitants of the town.By this,I am determined to plant more different varieties of produce,but I am encountered by the financial challenges to expand my farming activities.For example,currently I have divided a portion which i am planning to plant Capsicum and pepper chillies,which mostly are in high demand due to it's shortage in the neighboring markets due to rain shortage experienced in the last planting season.I am planning to plant the two products in the said portion as soon as i get financial boost from the Zidisha Microfinance organization.
From my last harvesting period,i was able to get a minimum net profit of 12,000/=. With the ability i have in agribusiness,I am able to feed my town with green products of which most of my other farmers dont plant,I believe i can get more market in the neighboring towns and more profit as compared to what i get now.It is my earnest and humble prayer that the Zidisha team will help me in buying the seeds and the fertilizer so that i can plant with the long rain of the season that we are experiencing now.Thank you and welcome

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much Zidisha team for your kind support in my agribusiness activities in my farm.Currently there is a heavy rains of the year and in my farm i have planted different kinds of crops which i will be harvesting soon and selling for a profit.I am left with un-planted portion which I am planning to plant the Capsicum & the red chillies,though i cannot plant for now as i don't have enough capital to buy the seedlings and the D.A.P fertilizer.
With your kind assistance to finance me,i will be able to buy the seedlings and the D.A.P fertilizer immediately i receive the Zidisha funds.
I am planning to buy-2 kilos of Capsicum seeds(Syngenta company)at-12.50 U.S.D -0.5 kilo of chillies seedlings(simlaw company)at-7 U.S.D
-50 kilos D.A.P fertilizer(M.E.A company) at-37.10 U.S.D
