I school upto form four, after that i did computer studies.I was married and got two boys. One is doing his form four final exam and one in class three. My life became very hard thats why i decided to do this business. According to my culture as a muslim ,am not allowed to be married by a man from another religion or else he has to revert to my religion. My boy wants to be a doctor and the other one an engineer.
I normally travel from Kenya to Zanzibar to buy goods in order to sell, eg shampoo, hair relaxer, hair food, treatment, perfumes. This business has alot of customers and in high demand. The business has good profit eg one piece of is bought @ksh 100/= ( us $ 1 ) and sold @ ksh 250/= ( us $ 2.5 ) which gives me a profit of ksh 150/= ( us $ 1.5 ). After all that i use this money to pay school fees for my children and buy more goods for my business.
The funds which I will receive from Zidisha plus some savings that I had, will enable me travel to Zanzibar to buy other goods like handbags @ Kshs.1,500/= (US $ 15) =Kshs.15,000 - (US $ 150) and then sale at Kshs.3,000/= (US $ 30) each which will give me a total cost of Kshs30,000/= (US $300). My profit will be Kshs.15,000/= (US $150). I will also open a hair dresser saloon and employ people who are interested to do so. The profits will enable me pay university fees for my boy next year and also improve my standard of living. I will be able to pay this loan without stress to the lenders who will help me fund this loan.
