About Me

My name is Bernard Gitonga. I was born in Nyahururu,Laikipia county. I attended St. Paul's academy upto class 7 then later moved to Nairobi and completed my primary at New Highlight school, Dagoretti. After that I attended Muhuri Muchiri High School where I did my K.C.S.E. in the year 2014. Later joined Skylink Flight Services where I'm currently pursuing an aeronautical engineering course.
I have passed through hardships but I have been able to overcome them by doing labour jobs such as in constructions sites, and was able to make some savings which have enabled me start my business.
The very unique thing about where I live is the availability of tourists coming to visit the place I stay due to the beautiful ornaments, beaded sandals, maasai kikoi's,and african art pictures sold around my place, and since I am a business oriented personnel I have decided to make a move in the art industry.
I am still single and not yet married since still I'm a student.
My hobbies are visiting places and observe how people from other cultures live and also watching documentaries is a great hobby to me.

My Business

I provide maasai beaded sandals, maasai vikoi's,beaded wrists bands and necklaces.
The goods I do provide are really on demand locally and also internationally since most of the people are really attracted by the genuinity of the leather made goods that I provide.
I chose this kind of business since it is rewarding and customers are always available to buy the awesome goods hence also in marketing via the social media has really been of great boost and help.
My typical costs are in regard of the type and size of the part of the goods I provide and hence they are wallet fit for every person who may be in need of them. My revenue are worth since also the value added tax is include in my goods.
I use my profits in paying part of my school fees and also expanding my business as well as feeding my self and paying for my life insuarance.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to buy leather materials at a cost of $20, rubber soles at a cost of $10 , beads at a cost of $8, sewing strings at $5, and a cobblers glue at a cost of $ 7.
The loan will be of great help since as an experienced shoe mender , I will produce extra pairs which will bring a 40% profit increase per pair.
I will sell a pair at cost of $30 and this will help me raise my business well.
I will use the profits to repay my loan ,save some for my future use, invest, and also for my self development.
My surrounding community will benefit from my sales by helping young entrepreneurs learn how to invest their money by teaching them how to make sandals and through this they will learn to start their lives well.
