About Me

My name is Moussa Go and I live in Banfora. I come from Dedougou, Burkina Faso. I worked at SN SUSUCO, a sugar refinery in Banfora. At the same time, I started to make fly swatters and shoes out of old tires. In 2008, I left my work at Susuco to make fly swatters full time. After I met a Peace Corps volunteer, I started to make sacks and other accessories too. I did not attend school, but I learned to read with my friends. With the profits from by business, I want to grow my business and my brother is going to help me.

My Business

My organization is called "La vie chere" and it's creative recycling. I make shoes, fly swatters, and bags out of inner tubes and old tires. I can also make messenger bags. I am the only person in Burkina who does this and I earn decent profits from it. With the loan, I want to purchase a new sewing machine and hire some women or my brother. I want to export these products to the United States. With a new machine, I could increase the quality of my products. My costs are variable and normally I make 100,000 CFA in sales each month. Thanks.

Loan Proposal

Hello Zidisha ! I would like to request a loan of 179,926 CFA (Approx. 373.00 USD). I plan to repay this loan at a rate of hopefully 16,000 CFA per month. With the loan I am requesting, I plan to buy some commercial products and to be able to obtain an electrical meter. I will need the electrical meter in order to work my sewing machine, which I bought with the last loan I requested. Right now, my business is using a communal electrical meter that is shared among other people. This often causes problems because my bill does not reflect my electrical consumption. SONABEL (National Burkina Faso Eletrical Company) usually bills us and I must pay the bill even if I have not consumed as much as everyone else. Therefore, I would like to get an un-shared electrical meter. Thanks !

Loan Proposal

Merci gomsa!
