About Me

I am Enock Oruko,I was born in and raised in Butere in small village called Kaingo to peasant farmers.I walked long distance to buyuwe primary school ,I passed well and joined Sigalame High school where i sat for my KCSE exams. I then Joined Egerton university for a diploma in animal science but dropped out after one semister due to lack of fees.
After differing my studies i went back home and I didnt have any capital to start business, and since my parents were not able to help me start a business,I started planting vegetables, which i sold to my fellow villagers,I soon raised about $150 and decided to commercialize my farm. I now do one acre of under assorted horticultural crops and I am still expanding it.
I come from the maragoli community in Butere kenya, among our culture is bull fighting, traditional male circumcision and traditional dances.
I do not have children now ,my hobbies include playing football, dancing and singing.

My Business

I am a commercial farm ,i grow assorted high value vegetables in one acre farm. Currently my farm is under tomatoes and kales. the demand for the vegatbels is very high due to low population of farmers practicing horticulture as most farms are under sugarcane.
I choose to do farming because it was a profitable business that did not require huge start up capital. It turned out well and was able to reinvest with my capital.
i spend $200 on farm maintenance and my montly revenues is $450. I use the money to pay for my diploma course, pay fees for siblings and take care of my parents.

Loan Proposal

Dear sir/madam
I am very pleased for the first loan and second loan. I will use the money to buy to sink a borehole in my farm that I would use to supply the much needed water in the farm. with the borehole ,I would always water my crops throughout the year and avoid losses associated with extreme lack of weather that dries the streams. Thank you sir/madam
