My name is Anet Ouma. I am 24 years old. I was born in a polygamous family and I am the third born in my family. My dad was a policeman, while my mum is a housewife. My dad was killed by thugs while on duty in Nairobi. I went to Kaimosi Girls Secondary School. I later joined Sigala Technical College where I pursued a diploma in dressing making.
After completing my diploma in 2013, I looked for a job with no success. I finally landed a job in late 2013, but the payment was so poor. In early 2014, with $120 savings from my previous employment, I bought a sewing machine. I could not afford a premise by then, so I worked from my mum's house. I did quality work and advertised my business, and within a few months I got so many referrals and my business was booming. I rented a small shop in our shopping center that I use for my business.
I like dancing, singing, meeting new people and reading novels.
My business entails designing and dressmaking. The clients describe what they want, I design and get back to them. If they approve my work, then I go ahead to make the dress, using their preferred materials.
Designed dresses are very important in the society today, as most people prefer to wear what they like. I produce good quality work to help me retain my clients as well as get referrals for new clients.
In a month I spend $200 on buying materials, electricity and machine maintenance. My monthly revenue average is $380. I make an average of $180 in profits. I use my profits to pay school fees for my sister, save for business expansion, and take care of my family's general expenses.
Dear lenders, you have played a big roll in my business growth and i wish to sincerely thank you for your efforts ,kindness and hard work. I recently got a tender to supply nursery school uniforms to Zole academy . I am requesting for a loan that would enable me to buy fabric in bulk ,so that i can enjoy economies of scale. I will need $400 to work on the tender and after supplying I would earn $750 the business in the next one month. please help me raise the loan ,once again thank you.
