About Me
My name is Cecilia Wangui - born in Central Kenya and later relocated to Mombasa city. I am the first born in a family of three siblings. My parents are small scale business people back home.
I went to primary and secondary school and later joined a college where I did a certificate course in business management. However, I did not secure a job and that is when I decided to start my own business selling wall hangings.
I am married with 2 kids. My husband is also a small scale business man who hawks hardware materials. I am a woman full of desire to succeed and I believe in hard work and being focused in life.
My Business
I started my second hand clothes business eight years ago. Later on, I decided to branch off to selling educational posters and school text books. This has proved to be a wise decision and I have since discarded selling of wall hangings to devote my energy and resources into this new venture.
My take home from this business currently ranges from USD 280 - USD 350 but I am hoping to improve on this figure once I boost my stock with credit from Zidisha. Ultimately, I would like to expand and supply on wholesale basis where customers will have a variety of products.
Loan Proposal
I need to boost my inventory of school textbooks. When I started, I concentrated on books for lower classes since they were more affordable. My clientele has grown and so have their demands. Most of them want to buy all books under one roof and sometimes I do not have what they need.
If I get this money, I will use it to buy textbooks for upper primary school -- from grade 5 - 8 -- because this is what I am lacking at the moment. Once this is done, I will be able to serve my clients better and this will definitely translate into better income for my business.
With the USD 450 that I am expecting to receive, I will be able to buy a wide range of books covering almost all examinable subjects.
