I have three grandchildren who I take of , I lost my husband early in life and I was left with five children to take of. I had to work very hard to provide for them and take them to school. I grew tobacco and vegetables that gave me some income to help me in life. I currently grow kales and tomatoes. I also help in midwifery during my free time and when need arises.
I sell vegetables that I personally grow on my farm, vegetables are liked by the locals here as they use them in the taking of ugali. Vegetables are taken daily, in every household and home. I chose it because they sell very fast. I use around KES 3000 on a half acre and get around KES 10000.I use the money to increase production, pay fees for my orphaned grandchildren and save the rest.
I want to buy a small hand held pump to be used in the application of chemicals against pests which are very common during the drier is axons when the vegetables fetch some good income for me. Currently I have to hire a pump which is an extra expense to me and I also need to apply the pesticides frequently to avoid the damage of the pests. This is going to lead higher quality and harvest hence incomes and profits.
