I am a researcher for over 10 years. Currently I work with KEMRI. I have a wife and two children. I did my primary education in the village and later went to a secondary school in the same village. Luckily, I managed to make it to university and went to Maseno University. I knew going to the university is not a guarantee that you must get a job. Having this in mind, I started doing voluntary work for KEMRI RCTP whenever the university was closed. This is how they gained my trust with time and currently I am a research assistant working for three research studies
I am a research assistant working for KEMRI and a transcriber who works on contract basis to earn a living. as a researcher, I am able to reach many young and vulnerable women in the community whereby I empower them as well as help in HIV prevention by offering preventive methods at no charge. As a transcriber, I get part time audio files to transcribe during my free time. I do all these to support my family, parents and pay bills.
Add a bit of my salary to buy a laptop. with that new laptop, my wife and I will get an opportunity to work independently hence doubling our returns
