About Me

My name is victoria mwangi I am 26 years old, wife and mother of 2 was born in Nakuru county. I completed basic education but I failed to continue with college education due to lack of fees.

My parents were small scale farmers with no education. We relied on a piece of two acres of land and mainly subsistence farming.

I am the first born in a family of eight, my father and mother died in 2007 and 2009 respectively of HIV/AIDS by then I was the only one who had completed form four .my sibling depended on me yet I had no formal job. I have been educating them through casual labour and assistance from NGOs

I got married but things did not change, in my marriage family challenges are similar to what I experienced before. My dream is to see all my children get a good education so that they may have a good future.

My Business

Currently am an horticulture farmer, producing vegetables and tomatoes in greenhouse throughout the year. I started the business in 2012, because of the ready market in nakuru town, my customers are schools, hotels and neighbors, my customers prefer my products because of high quality and i also deliver the products to my customers neighbors. My main challenges is lack of enough capital and high cost of labor. My plans is to expand the enterprise. In a month i make profits of upto $200 depending on demand which i use to help my family. My vision is to build more green houses, with variety of vegetables and tomatoes. I also want to venture into other farming enterprise for dairy, poultry. am proud of my tomatoes because they sell more.
