I am from matende village shirere sub-location. I did my kenya certificate of primary education in 1993 at kakamega township. My parents were unable to take me to secondary school so i joined a garage of a family friend to enable me acquire mechanic skills. It was at the garage that i learned my driving skills and when i was 18 years and had my national identification i went for a driving course. I have been a TAXI driver for several years though employed, i decided to venture into my own business in 2006 when i bought a motor bike. I currently have two motor bikes i have bought my own land where i live with my family and i look forward to building a more reliable transport industry.
My business involves providing transport services to my customers through out the day, my day start at around 5am in the morning where i pick and drop students to schools and during the day i ferry clients to different destinations my charges vary from Ksh.50 ($0.5) to ksh.200 ($2) depending on the distance. i make an average of Ksh.1000 ($10) a day, which includes proceeds from the hired motor bike. with the modest income i am able to pay for my children education meet my basic needs pay for medical insurance and save for future investments.
I will use the loan amount in purchase of a new moto-bike engine, service the engine buy Tyre tubes and payment to the mechanic totaling Ksh.32000 $320 the remaining amount will pay for annual insurance and purchase of fuel.
