I am the last born in a family of 4 children born to Mr Joseph wafula mulongo and my mother Metrin Nanyama. We grew up in Bumula county and i attended Syekumulo primary school and Saint Anthony Sirisia secondary school for my O level education. My father has worked in Kenya Agricultural Research Institute for many years and my mother has stayed at home taking care of us.After seeing the challenges that my parents had raising us i decided to be self dependent at an early age and saved money from my own farming and eventually bought a motorbike which i use for transporting clients until today.I have one wife and two children.I love my county Bumula as it is unique even with the weather and is very conducive for business. We have a very good soccer team and we are always having sporrts events when other parts of the country are not. It is my desire to finally own my own minivan to transport clients to and from various towns and i know with time i will achieve this goal.
I carry passengers on my boda boda motorbike and charge them a fee of between 50kshs to 100 kshs for every trip. That is around half a dollar to a dollar. In a day i make around 6$ to 10$ depending on the availability of clients.I pay the municipal council around 2$ daily for the licence to park in the municipality. This motorbike business helps me feed and cloth my family and helps me to also aid my mother in her day to day activities as my father income is very negligible.
I will buy a new seat for 30$ and add some new tyre tubes costing 5$ each.I will be able to attract new customers to my bike as the current one has a rugged seat and does not appeal to clients as much as it should. I will increase my earnings and even buy a better engine for the bike with time.
