About Me

I am Miriam Wacera currently pursuing a degree in Agribusiness management in Chuka University. I am a second born in a family of 3. I started my business last year after intensive research. I chose this business because of my knowledge in agribusiness management. This venture besides giving me a source of income also gives me satisfaction. I am an active person and a member of several motivational and investment groups where we share ideas. I love to surf the internet for useful information and interacting with friends.

My Business

I own a 132 eggs incubator. I am able to hatch 120 chicks monthly. I sell a 1 day old chick at $1.1 therefore getting $132 . I buy eggs at $15 and pay $47 for electricity. Total expenses amount to $62 each month and I am left with $70 as my profit monthly. The demand for chicken by restaurants and eateries is high so I am always assured of a constant market for my chicken. The demand for chicken goes up during the festive season so it is prudent for me to position myself for the opportunities that present themselves.

Loan Proposal

Thanks to zidisha and the lenders for the opportunity. I intend to add a 60 eggs incubator to my business at $145. The incubator will allow me to hatch between 50 to 60 chicks which intend to rear for three months. The reason for this is that I am targeting eatery joints and hotels. A full grown chick costs 500 therefore I will be assured of more profits besides diversifying my business. I wish to make my farm even bigger from the support of my lenders. Thank you.
