About Me

My name is Samuel Ngathu, I am 22 years old. I was born and raised in a village called Kiambururu in Kagunda location. I studied in Murindati primary school, Njabini secondary school and currently in Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture and Technology studying Bsc Marine Engineering. Life was not that easy having being born as the second born in a family of 5. I had to work had all through my studies to earn bursaries from well wishers for my school fees. Parents are peasant farmers. This has forced me to hustle for my upkeep. Due to financial constrains I to seek for an academic leave for one year and go hustle for my university fee and upkeep. During this session I thought of coming up with a business that would at least finance me in the university life. I had saved enough to buy three desktops and a small printer by the time i was resuming back to school. In our culture a man is the bread winner and this acts as a motivation for me to work hard in everything that i do. I love chatting and making new friend, and also loves swimming.

My Business

In the cyber that has now run for the last 24 months I offer the following services:
• Internet access
• Printing and photocopying
• Sells stationary
Neighboring the university the services are very crucial to the students for their researches and recreational time. Due to the high number of students these services are in high demand. Therefore, these propelled me in starting this business.
• I pay the following bills and rent on monthly basis:
• House rent 7000 KES
• Electricity 2000 KES
• Internet fees 6000 KES
• And a business permits of 4900 KES annually.
I use the profit to pay my school fees and my personal upkeep, supporting my younger siblings and some I reinvest.

Loan Proposal

Thankyou Zidisha team for accepting my loan proposal. If funded i will buy a photocoping machine which is worth 550 USD. This will enable my cyber cafe to offer printing and photocopy services to my fellow students. This will increase my profits to about 50 USD per day and a job oppotunity to a kenyan citizen.
