About Me

My official names are Joseph Otieno alias David. i was born in Siaya county in 1972 .I started my school in 1980 where i was promoted to standard two because i was very bright. I did well in K.C.P.E in 1987 and went to high School. Since i was born in a poor family , i did not make it to the college, but i was lucky to Join NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE (NYS) in 1992 where i was trained as dressmaker and a designer for two years. I began my business after being employed in several companies, after saving enough money which i though would help me buy materials and the machines and other necessary things. This business of dressmaking has made me achieve a lot in terms of family making and educating my children . The unique thing in this culture is that people value bull fighting than doing their own creative work. my children would like to be engineers that is the song they sing.my past time hobby is athletic.

My Business

Since i began this Business i have been based on ladies and men' wear. I have been making ready made clothes and sale them and most of the time i depend on customers who have been very much attracted by my services.Everybody every where must put on a dress.and it is basic need, weather young or old, male or female, sick or healthy,it is in demand.I chose it because it is always a hundred percent profitable.there is no loss in dressmaking unless your good are stolen or burnt down. the challenge is only when the customers are seasonal. The cost of my services ranges from khs50 to ksh2000 when a customer brings his or her work. The revenue per year is ksh10 000
I always calculate the profit every week and then monthly.By the end of the month i earn myself a salary then i distribute them earnings according to the needs that we have in the family, education, food and perhaps health, and also home improvement. Some we reinvest to buy more materials to make the work move on.

Loan Proposal

Since i have been turning raw cloth materials in to dresses, i have not been doing a good finishing that attack more customers. Now i am requesting Zidisha team to consider this proposal so that i can improve my workmanship in this field, since in the current world there is a high competition. I want to increase the volume of my customers and increase my income as the economy is also increasing
Thank you.
