About Me

My name is Anthony Opara, I live in Lagos Nigeria with my wife Vero and our three sons. We work as caterers and survive by catering for weddings, birthdays and other occasions. We have had to cater to families who prefer our home cooking to buy from hotels and other eateries because our food comes with a touch of home. Over the period we have discovered that our engagements require a lot of planning and renting of equipment and human resource management as we sometimes require some experts to assist us in preparing some dishes requested by our customers.

We now need a blog site to advertise our business on the internet so we seek a loan to pay for a website where we can advertise and get more people to know about our business and hire us for our outdoor service

My Business

Our business is catering to different clients ranging from schools, companies, families friends and even family members. Our business is based in Lagos but we have had to travel outside the state to cater for a burial ceremony. We cook different kinds of food and cakes and small chops to satisfy the requirements of our customers, which is sometimes based on what part of Nigeria they come from. We sometimes employ experts to cook some of the food requested by our clients. The greater challenge of our business is planning all the aspects including human resource management and transportation.

Loan Proposal

We have discussed that renting big cooking pots each time we have an order to provide food to a school or a wedding party costs us money so we decided to approach to raise about Hundred Thousand Naira to enable us to buy these pots and big frying pans. We will save cost as well as rent these pots and pans to other caterers when we do not have a job

Income Source

Thankfully the federal government has announced further ease of the lockdown and the Lagos state government will probably further opening of the business space which will affect our business positively. we have started receiving orders to cater for small gatherings and baking birthday and wedding anniversary cakes. I believe that with further opening of the business space we will be able to not only repay this loan but take larger loans to expand our business

My wife Vera and I of Verantho Confectioneries wish to thank all of you for helping make Vera's dream come of it. She is very passionate about cooking and making wedding and birthday cakes and what we call small chops. We will apply the funds to improve our business as stated.

My wife run a catering service which is mainly outdoors. Our main challenge is the tools of our business which are mainly cutleries, plates, huge cooking pots. Sometimes we loan when we have a client to serve or when we have two or three clients at about the same time in which case we may rent from other caterers

I wish to thank those who lent us N107,387 to enable us build a website for our catering services. we have so far repaid over 80,000 of this loan which will end on August 9th. WE believe that we will make good this loan so we will be eligible for future loan requests. WE have also invited friends to also take loans from Zidisha.

I wish to thank all the lenders who have made it possible for me to receive this loan. A lender has advised that I rent out our pots when they are not in use. It’s a suggestion that we will likely implement

It is a great idea to rent your pots out when not in use. You can do the same if you have canopies or tents. They are needed for many events.

I must thank all the lenders that have put forth their money to assist us in running our business. School has just reopened and we have been able to pay school fees for our three children, bought books for them and other necessary materials required and this was possible because of the business that we are running.

I want to use this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to the Eighty-Seven, Eight Hundred and sixty-Seven ThousandNaira Loan I received to build a website to enhance our catering business. It hasn't been concluded as the web designer is yet to come up with an acceptable design for us. There is also the issue of hosting the website for a year in the first instance for which we might seek further assistance

We catered for a family that dedicated their child. We prepared several types of dishes and catered to a lot of people. With our last loan, we were able to buy some more cutleries which assisted us so much as people didn't have to wait for their turn to be given spoons to eat or wait until we wash plates to serve. We had enough plates to serve
