I am Nkrumah kwabena Alfred, 30 years of age and a laboratory assistant, a good entrepreneur whose aim is to build my own business.
I am the first from a family of four. I have completed senior high school but did not get the opportunity to further my education as I was dreaming of when I was in secondary school.
Life in my childhood days was not that easy as I mostly had to do buying and selling in order to cater for my education. I quite remember how sometimes in school, I have to miss classes in order to get some job done to get something for my pocket. After secondary school I took a course in laboratory assistants training.
As at now I have also manage to get a diploma in management and have completed my national service in 2015. My parents now are in their old age and cannot do any better job to cater for the family. Everything lies on me now. I have to take care of the family from the little that I have.
I have been employed as a laboratory assistant at a health center in the Tain district of Ghana on casual basis. I have therefore added these consumables selling in order to get something for the family and myself. My dream is to see poverty being reduced in my community and expanding my businesses will create the room for employing more hands which in turn will help reduce unemployment in the area.
With the support of Zidisha loans I have now grown interest in farming as their good loan terms have also help me get something to add farming to my job.
If I am able to raise this loan I will invest some of that money in planting yam, casava and cashew.
This crop are in high demand in my community and the country at large. This if I am able to achieve will help me to achieve my dreams.
Interestingly, until I discovered zidisha I was not so much good in using the internet to the extent that my first loan was process with the help of a member but now I am able to do all by myself due to the support of zidisha .
Thanks to the Zidisha community.
I am in the sale of non-drugs/ hospital consumables and also a small scale farmer.
Some of the non drugs include plasters, gentian violet, cotton wool, gauze, gloves etc.
The crops I plant also include yam, casava and cashew.
All these items I sell at Nsawkaw and its sub districts in the Brong Ahafo Region. Mostly, those I sell the health items to are the CHPS compounds and the health centres across the region. Sometimes individuals also patronize my products.
I sell my farm produced to the traders who buy in bulk for sale in the cities and also for export. I also sell some to others in smaller quantities in my area, that is those who cannot buy in bulk and need something for consumption.
I was not having any shop to stock my goods therefore I found it difficult to meet the high demands of customers but with the help of zidisha I have expand the shop and also hire a helper. I would be glad to get this loan in order to help expand this business. This I hope to do by getting more consumables to meet the demands and later get another shop or move my farming to a large scale farming as I am planning to do.
It is my dream also to extend this business of mine to parts of the region and the nation as a whole. By this I hope to decrease mortality among the sick which in turn will help the country achieve certain developmental goals such as reducing death among children under five years and pregnant women and also reduce hunger or famine in the country and the world at large.
I entered this type of businesses because it is a kind that help to save lives and it's contributions to eliminate global hunger.
In addition, I will be able to make good profit in order to take care of the family of which I am the bread winner and again expand my businesses to a higher height.
I promise to execute and respect the rules and regulation of this noble institution.
Thank you.
I would like to take a loan to buy non drug health products for sale.
Some of this items and their prices are:
Gauze bandages - $100
Drez solution -$150
Methylated spirit-$150
Cotton wool-$50
Pregnancy test kits-$20 Etc.
I would also use about $65 of this money to buy a computer or a portable phone that can help me in my work as a zidisha volunteer .
The rest of the money would be invested in my farming business.
I would invest about $200 in my yam farm, $150 in cassava farming and the rest in the Cashew farming.
If I am able to raise this loan and invest in my businesses as planned, it would help me to get money and food for my family support and also help me to further my education in the future God willing.
I would also reinvest part of my profit in my businesses to boost them.
If all these my dreams materialize I expect my businesses to grow by 15 to 20% or a little above that.
I am looking forward for your usual cooperation.
Thank you.
