About Me

am harun born of a very poor family in kinangop, usually undertake farming activities in kinangop i have reared goat, sheep and cow. i depend wholly on farming. am a farmer mostly dealing with growing of cabbages, potatoes, and the sale of milk from cow kinangop is have good climate with fertile soil which support growth of various crops which does very well in this moderate warm climate, dxue to the introduction of county goverment we no longer have to worry about poor road network, the nyandarua county has embark on making our feeder road using murram.this has help us a great deal in marketing our product as lorries now can access our farms without major problems as in the past where roads were unaccessable. thanks to the kenya goverment and the county goverment of nyandarua as farmers now can market their produce without hiccups

My Business

am a farmer dealing with sale of cabbages after 3 months i usually get ksh 20000 from sale of cabbages. i stil have two dairy cows which on average produce 12kgs of milk per day this mean i have kshs 10000 per hmonth.this cabbages are very good as they fetch money during even dry season as you can irrigate them i also rear 1 cow just to make sure i have milk for the family and still get daily income from milk sales.i still have few chicken just to make sure the family has eggs thus protein which is essential for a balanced diet.chicken are a bit challenging to rear in this area due to extreme cold condition in kinangop, this is brought about by the area nearness to the fold mountain :aberdare ranges which covers the entire nyandarua county, currently am mostly concentrating with cultivation of cabbages which at least is having good market.
