My name is Caroline. I have a passion for farming. I take farming as a profession. Food security is important to the nation of Kenya. I do small scale farming due to limited resources. I love Tomato farming as it takes 4 months to harvest.

My Business

I love farming since i was at a tender age. My parents are farmers and i loved helping in farm work especially planting maize and beans hence my passion for farming.
I have 3 acres of land where i do small scale farming. I love planting organic tomatoes as a full time business. I however lack resources to plant the whole 3 acres.
Organic Tomato farming is a profitable business. It takes 1Kg of certified organic tomato seeds Ksh.10,000, 50 Kgs of organic manure Ksh.8000, Organic ( Pesticides and Herbicides) Ksh.20,000. Farm preparation Ksh. 5,000. Labour Ksh.10000. Total Ksh. 53,000. An acre can yield up to 50 big sized woodedn Crates sold at Ksh.4,500 giving a total of Ksh. 225,500 producing a profit of Ksh.172,000.
We have fresh water running on a canal downstream all year round. That is an advantage. I need seeds, Organic manure, organic pesticides and herbicides, money for labour and hiring transport to the market. I request for funding to expand my Organic Tomatoes acreage and increase profits.

Loan Proposal

I want to purchase Organic Tomato seeds, Organic farm manure, Organic herbicides and pesticides, pay extra labour cost and use some money to hire transport for my tomato delivery to the market.
