About Me

Hallo, my name is Niva Lopetet, born and raised in Turkana, Kenya. Turkana is a hardship and a very difficult environment, and it was these challenges which have made me who am today; I have learnt to go an extra step and to be optimistic about life. The Turkana people are mainly nomadic pastoralist, and have a low option on other livelihood activities like farming, business and for the few who are doing entrepreneurship, financial capital is a big setback. I am inspired to challenge, motivate and create an opportunity for other creative youths and women from my community to engage in business and excel as successful entrepreneurs.

Lodwar is a good commercial center and the market is really transforming very fast. I started my business in the year 2012, a small cake shop in Lodwar.

My Business

I have been delivering cakes to offices and homes within Lodwar town, and it's from that the demand for office food delivery came up. I now supply lunch and breakfast to banks and government offices. The demand is enormous and overwhelming: it's my prayer to be the leading catering service provider in Lodwar. My targets are to be the schools' lunch supplier, cover all the offices, and have a restaurant in town. To do this, I need proper equipment and a good capital, which is my biggest challenge.

Loan Proposal

With the loan,I will be able to purchase a commercial Gas Jiko. This will increase my efficiency and will be able to deliver more and meet the demands from my customers. These Jiko costs is 250 dollars. I will top up the loan to be able to purchase.

About Me

Dear Zidisha,2015 was a great year!thank you very much for your support and faith.I have really upgraded to the next level. My business has been lifted, I had an idea + passion but limited in finances.

Despite the lack of equipment/tools,i started my business in 2014 .With a lot of difficulty;sleepless nights, a lot of wastage and to top it up low returns and losses.

This was not until a friend introduced me to Zidisha. I first bought an oven;I used to bake using a Jiko, you should now see the relieve in my face, in just 40 mins my cake is done and I am confident . Then I bought a hand mixer, table turner, shape cutters, decorating tools and cake stands. Wow,all these transformed my work completely. My professional work is selling in town,I can handle more and more orders .This made me more excited,I tried to renovate my kitchen, this project was bigger than I thought but when its complete,am telling you,I will be unbeatable and the smarter one in Town. Thanks to you Zidisha, lenders! may you Live Long!
