I am from Boussé, a town in Burkina Faso. Currently I live in sector 17 of Ouagadougou. When I was very small, my parents enrolled me in the Koranic school. After graduating from the Koranic school, I started in the trade of yams. I traded for many years and with age I could not walk as far to sell my yams. That's how I started trading in spices and other food ingredients. I have a store in the Boulmiougou market.
Right now my business is focused on selling vegetables. I sell foods such as onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peanut paste in the Boulmiougou market. My main buyers are households and some meat vendors. Monthly operating expenses totaled 1,089,000 FCFA against a monthly turnover of 1.371 million FCFA, with a net monthly profit of 282,000 CFA francs. The business is useful because it can support my husband in the daily management of family responsibilities on the one hand, and on the other hand, pay school fees for some of my children. I have already had a loan from another microfinance system which I repaid in full.
this new application for a loan will allow me to increase the volume of vegetable I sell. Moreover, with the first loan I was able to add a new packing shed close to the one I already owned. Therefore I will be able to exhibit all possible vegetables and spices. I'm also considering hiring a girl to help me with sales.
