About Me

My Name is Millicent Njue. I am married with three children and live in Nairobi. I hope to be an established chicken farmer and as soon as that happens retire to my farm in the country .I have an online business to supplement my family income alongside farming in the country. I hope to retire to the countryside in a few years thus need to set up a sustainable business venture before then. I have a passion for farming and have settled on chicken farming since it is the most profitable in my area. I lost quite a number of chicken from an outbreak of disease in my area thus I need to add onto the remaining ones to build my stock.

My Business

My area is not very good with crops due to inadequate rainfall. It is for this reason that I came up with the idea of keeping chicken for an income since not much water is required for it. I have found out that there is ready market in the nearby towns therefore guaranteed of market for my chicken. Unfortunately I lost quite a number of chicken to a recent outbreak thus need to add on to the remaining stock. I aspire to be a leading meat supplier in the coming years and also have eggs for sale. If I can grow my stock I will then be able to supply my products to the town that is near me and will have achieved my goal of being a successful farmer and even offer some people jobs on the farm to be able to take care of the chicken. That is why I need a loan.

Loan Proposal

Once I get this loan, I will get a specialist to advice me on disease prevention since I lost quite a number of chicken in a recent outbreak and also elevate the chicken house. I also need to increase the number of chicken to be able to attain maximum profit through the sale. This also includes getting a new breed in the area that is a mix of both the local and some modified that is bigger and stronger with more resistance to disease.

I am so grateful for my last loan. I thank the lenders as I am now better placed to run the business. Even though I suffered a setback when I lost many of my chickens to disease, I am determined to get back on my feet and even expand further. I intend to engage the advice of experts onwards so that this does not happen to me again.

My chicken were doing well until they got sick and I lost quite a number. However I still managed to get profit selling some of them and still have some remaining. I would like to add on to the number and also engage a poultry specialist for routine checks on my chicken house for advice on their health. I need more funds for this thus appeal for more funding.

Business not going well. This has caused me to submit late payments altogether therefore I wish to make the proposed amount every week until I am through with my Loan. Thank you for your kind consideration and I look forward to confirmation about my request. This will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

      Hello Millicent,
It is fine with me to pay less every week. I am thankful that you communicate so much with the lenders about the repayments! I am also curious about your business. How did you use the loan you got? Was it enough to expand the pen and buy more chickens? I am sorry that you face hardships in your business. What is that due to? I hope that luck will soon shine on you and your business again! Best regards,
      Pavane

      Hi Millicent,
I'm just a lender, I can't make any updates for you and unfortunately I don't know how to do it either. Ask your VM how to do it or mail the Zidisha team!
      Best regards,
      Pavane

I would like to complete paying the two remaining loan installments on May 23rd please. I don't have cash yet. I will not be able to submit payment until that date because I am expecting some payment for my business by then. Thanks for understanding. I hope this is fine with you and that it will not cause any inconveniences at all on your side.
