About Me

I am a dad living with my family. I come from western Kenya and have a passion for commercial chicken rearing. I would like to partner with Zidisha to grow a business empire and improve my livelihood and that of my family. It is quite challenging here in Kenya to secure a good livelihood. The cost of living has increased while employers are not increasing their pay hence the need to think outside the box.
I want to secure a good education for my children and can not do that with my current income.
I gained interest in chicken from an early age and enjoy rearing them alot.
I intend to move to the next level apart from just rearing I want to start a hatchery.

My Business

Currently I have over fifty chicken but aim to have two hundred by the end of the year. Chicken meat is highly nutritious and their eggs sales assist in buying them some commercial feeds apart from the left overs i feed them with.
Chicken is a delicacy in my area so on high demand
The profits will be used for re investment and ultimately will expand to goat rearing.
I will repay the loan from sales of the grown birds which will happen fortnightly as they are of different ages.

Project Proposal

This is a project I did before and went very well. I require to acquire five local layers as I have a cock and revive my chicken rearing project. I already have the infrastructure in place.

I give my sincere thanks to lenders who are putting their faith and money on me and promise that I am doing everything I can to turn this dream of having five hundred indigenous chicken and above by the end of the year.
So far it has been a challenging journey but I overcome one hurdle after the other and I envision success and prosperity in the near future.
Thanks a lot to everybody concerned.

    Hello good people,
It is quite challenging as I deal with little indigenous chicks. They require alot of care and warmth. I am learning alot as I look for information from all round on how to rear them.
They are now eleven days old and doing fine. Any tips out there?
I pray that I finish my initial loan as I want to start hatching using an incubator and have already identified one somewhere. Advice is wholesomely welcome.
    Kind regards,
    Franc.

The business is steadily picking up. And I have gotten a brilliant idea. I want to acquire an incubator to be hatching chicks after every 21 days. This venture is more profitable and has less risks as the chicks are disposed immediately (one day) after they hatch. Any Ideas out there?

The birds are fairing on well. its just that the weather is kind of hot so at times they seem to be having some stress.
