My name is Damashas Kirui from Siriat village in Sotik. I am 34 years old and a first born in a family of seven. I am married and blessed with two daughters- Angela and Brenda aged 5 and 2 years respectively.
I love farming and currently do it full time as source of food and income.
I spend my free time watching movies and taking nature walks.
l am a full time farmer and specialize in poultry farming. I have a farm in Siriat vilage where I keep my flocks. I chose poultry farming because i have skills and is also very profitable. I rear mostly indegenous breeds- which have a good demand in the area.
I sell both eggs and chicks and my customers are often hotel owners and local residents.
I have plans to expand my business by buying more chicks and reaching out for more clients- like tenders from hotels.
The demand for indeginous chicks and eggs is on the rise in my area. I would therefore like to expand the size of my brood by purchasing more chicks from the neighbourhood.
I have just completed the expansion of the poultry house and I am targetting 15 more chicks.
I will therefore use the $100 loan on purchasing the new chicks and feeds to start with.
- $60 on 15 indegenous chicks and the remainign $40 to add on feeds.
Improving the number of chicks will improve profits both from sale of mature chicks and eggs. I expect to sell over 100 eggs each week from the new chicks which will generate an additional revenue of over $15 weekly
The current cash flow will help me repay the loan with ease.
Thank you.
